I dont know if this will solve your audio problem but this is what I found out yesterday. I have Astro A40s and I was having trouble with the game/chat mix on the Xbox 1 even with my mix amp. If you have the XB1 Adaptor, there are two buttons on the left hand side that control the game/chat mix. The button with "the controller" emblem controls the game mix, the button with the "Chat dude" on it controls chat volume. All you have to do it mash those buttons respectivley to even out the volume. I have game volume turn almost all the way down via that adaptor.

Game audio comes out of the controller as well now. A quick fix should be to turn the game audio all the way down(hit the bottom left button that looks like a person until you can't hear the game anymore) and adjust the volume to how loud you want the chat to be. Hope it works.

Do you have it plugged into the optical out as well?

I use an old headset with the chat adapter.

I know what you mean man. I've played on a 65" Mitsubishi TV, 32" Vizio TV, 25" HP monitor, and this 23" asus monitor. I would say the sweet spot for playing competitively is 23" - 24". Can't say that for watching movies and tv though haha. Although, I do sit at my desk to watch Netflix.
