The very first two things i notice are that the signatures seem really low quality. Maybe try sharpening them. The renders are rather blurry. Also you need to work on blending.

You also need to work on coloring, lighting and flow, but we can start with just blending for now.

I would like for you to try these tutorials, they will give you a few different styles to start playing with. Most of your signatures look very similar, so let's try to vary it up a bit!

[Tutorial 1]
[Tutorial 2]
[Tutorial 3]

Now, there are a few advanced things going on in these tutorials, so don't rush through them! If you get stuck on any one part, let us know and we'll try to help.

I had to wipe my harddrive, so I don't have GIMP atm, but if you get stuck and need help, then i'll redownload it and walk you through it. =)

I will check these out and try to put it into image 2. ill have to read the tutorial on my phone because it gets real small on my computer an will not blow it up. And I do sharpen the renders before I put them in, and then I also use a artistic Cartoon thing on them, I think doing that blurs it again. Thanks for the info I will have image 2 up later today I have to study these tutorials first lol. But one question where do yall get the C4Ds?

Taking info Looking to improve or to know if I improved in areas

alright kilo, here's a great trick for helping with backgrounds. Your using GIMP, so I can definitely help you.

Take your sig, and duplicate it in another layer. Take the top layer, and do a gassiuan blur at about 35. Do a merge effect like overaly or addition, and erase the top layer OVER THE FOCAL before merging down.

this will help add depth.

the effects of this technique can be seen here:

Hey Kilo!

I love your enthusiasm and drive at getting better at design.

I think the thing you need to work on most is your backgrounds.

You use really harsh lines in your backgrounds and it really draws the attention away from the focal. Anything in the background needs to be just that, the background.

It's ok to have a few effects in the foreground, but your designs are just everywhere.

When you are applying c4ds, fractals or other stocks to your images to add flare to it, how are you doing it?

I would personally suggest trying an overlay, lighten or screen to get your effects into the image without overpowering it.

You could also blur out some of the effects to lighten it and keep it from being so heavy.

Ok, we're going to try something a little different.

I'm going to assign you some designs from the request area. When you've completed the requests, instead of posting them for pick-up, you're going to post them here in your applicaiton. If they're up to standard, i'm going to give you the go ahead to post it.

This is going to allow you to practice filling requests that come into the community and it will also allow us to see how well you do working within someone's request. You don't have as much free reign, so it's a bit more difficult.

I could like for you to start by doing this request:
http://www.xiledgaming.com/showthread.php?175594-Need-new-sig-please!

Please remember, don't post your signature anywhere but this application until I say otherwise.

Your making alot of progress, Your backgrounds are less sharp. Next thing you should try is blurring the parts of the render that are not the focal point so it add more to the focal.
