In an interview with Joystiq, Bright was asked about what his team's next project would be. "Activision's doing a DJ Hero game, and I can't comment on what we're doing," Bright said. "But... we're working on the future and next gen. If I wasn't excited about it I wouldn't be there."
Awesome to know the World Tour team is keeping busy, but more importantly, this is the first time anyone inside Activision has publicly confirmed development on DJ Hero, as everything we've learned about it so far has come from anonymous sources. One such source told MTV Multiplayer back in september that the game was shaping up to be a "licensing nightmare," as it purportedly uses a soundtrack of mash-ups -- songs that are comprised by taking elements of two different songs and fusing them together. Before that, a different source gave a http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3169912number of gameplay details to Kotaku, saying the game is played with a controller that resembles a simplified DJ deck (real-life DJ deck pictured above), with a scratch "platter," three sampling buttons, a crossfader, and a sound effects dial.
What hasn't been part of any of these reports, though, is any indication of when to expect the game to be released.
