Revolution, the first DLC or downloadable content for Black Ops 2, went over quite well with consumers and gamers alike. The DLC packed a new strong punch with its introduction of a new gun to the Call of Duty universe. The Peacekeeper as such named is a cross between an assault rifle and Sub machine gun. Awesome Right? The guns new qualities makes the new maps feel right at home with its all-around capabilities. Get your ammo packs ready because you’ll be using the Peacekeeper till you get it gold.
Downhill the first new map of the Season introduces the first snow climate map on Black Ops 2. For all you snipers out there pull out your DSR because you will need to be aimed and ready to fire with its wide open areas and its sniper spots covering every angle. Don’t feel left out if you don’t like to snipe because this map is designed for all gun fights from sub machine guns to assault rifles. The maps interior includes a new ski lift that will be your best friend or your worst enemy if you get near one and gives great support and cover. All in all Downhill is overall is a great new addition to the DLC.
Mirage, don’t let its name fool you this map is far from it. The way this map is laid out is one of the most intriguing maps of the DLC. Mirage introduces a more rounded or circled map. As you play it feels like you are going in a circle the entire time moving around the map. The map welcomes Snipers to an extent, its sides offer long lines of fire but most if the fight is in the middle where unless you’re like myself and quick scope your snipers void. Its sandy new terrain offers a new look and a dried up pool to the DLC.
Hyrdo, the third map of this installment has to be the most complex. The map offers to the table an underground spill way that will kill you if you’re not too careful. Its broad interior and enclosed exterior makes the map one of the best tactical maps I believe of the DLC. Hydros exteriors and sharp turns makes sniping nearly impossible except to the bravest of snipers, this is truly a map to test out that gold Peacekeeper of yours we all know you have. Overall Hyrdo is one of the best thought out and well placed maps of the DLC.
Grind, is exactly what is says if you have to literally grind your way across that map like its Tony Hawk Pro Skater. The map the corner out of corner camping with its new round edged skate design making moving around corners slightly easier and not worrying about to many people waiting around it for you. Grind nearly makes it impossible to snipe unless you stay to the exterior of the map and leave all the close based killing in the middle. Grind is literally a skate park everything including the interior a skate shop so you are sure to have fun on this map I guaranty it. The map itself isn't supposed to be for tactical purposes but it does its job at entertainment for the whole community.
At Last we cannot forget the most important DLC Die Rise and Turned. I think I speak for the whole community and saying this Zombie Map packs a punch in a whole new way with its twists and turns. If you don’t watch yourself you will lose yourself in the map and get killed by a new wave of monkey like zombies that spawn in a rush on the walls and ceiling killing you around wave 5 if you’re not careful. This map is so large that going up and down this map several times will set in for some unique and awesome gameplay. We cannot forget about Turned either this new intense game mode allows you to become what everyone has been waiting on the Zombie. As fun as this game mode sounds constricting the game mode to The Dinner and only allowing several people play in one game is a disappointment. It does make for a good introduction to a new idea. If you are bored or just want to try it out go play turned and test it out for yourself and release your inter zombie.
This DLC is surprisingly quite worth paying for, unlike the disappointment we all felt from MW3’s DLC Maps. This is a great start from the DLC Season I am looking forward to seeing more from Treyarch. Rumored from numerous sources the next DLC is called Orientation and will introduce four new multiplayer maps, one zombie map, and a new DLC gun like the last DLC. The maps so called names are Water, Southpaw, Mobile, and Plane. The new Zombie Map will be Dead High, as well as the new DLC gun which is yet named but looks similar to a cross between a sniper and an assault rifle. So I’m expecting great things from Treyarch in this coming season.
