One thing I've noticed a few times (and I think it's awesome) is when people ask around about clans and test-drive various clans and groups before joining.
While as a member of XGC recruitment is important I think it's necessary to clarify the goal a bit:
As a recruiter it's far better to recruit people who are a good fit for your clan. Recruiting just anyone who happens along leaves you with the strong possibility that the new recruit may not jive with the chemistry your clan has...leading to yet another inactive member...which does nobody any good.
As someone looking for a clan...take your time and shop around. XGC has a wide variety of clans available and each has a little different flavor: find the one that fits you. Send friend requests to XGC members, talk about the clan and what they are about. Most importantly play online with them: regular match-ups and customs.
Lastly, a clan, like any community is akin to a family.
Sometimes the kids grow up and want to move on. Sometimes our tastes change, we play different games, etc.
While I think it's important to try and keep the clans together by trying to accommodate everyone...sometimes it doesn't work.
No Problem!
Again, there are a ton of different clans available. Over time I'm pretty sure that while you play with your clanmates most often, you likely also play with pals in other clans. If for some reason you feel the need to transfer to another clan and things with your old clan are not working, then talk with your chain of command and people should be cool about making sure you have the right fit.
Inactive members do nothing for the clan except buff up the numbers on paper, which accomplishes little.
QUALITY > QUANTITY
