Was just wondering what everyone thought might be the most essential needs to become victorious in COD. Is it brains? Speed? Is it defensive or offensive play? What do you, the community think?
Ever adapting balance relevant to the gametype. In general, defense will always be the strongest style, but an aggressive style is definitely needed to maintain pressure. There's also lots of variables that determine when it's ok to maintain strong defense and minimal aggression and vice versa.
That was well said. Having a mixture of all types is the best way to go. As long as you can think and be flexible you'll always have the ability to throw of the opponent.
Which is why I want Hardpoint to come back from Blops2. Imo, that gametype emphasized having a balance of playstyles. Have three people that memorized the hardpoint locations be the aggressive players to capture/break the points. While the other three players be your midrange defenders, holding down key "hotspots" and continually punching holes in the enemy line or calling out the locations of the stragglers that made it through
