Even though he hung up his jersey in March, Brett Favre is leaving on a particularly high note. The former Green Bay Packer will be gracing the cover of EA Sports' upcoming Madden NFL 09, which is due for an August 08 release. During his quarterback career, he received the Associated Press' MVP Award three times and led the Packers to the Super Bowl twice, winning once.

Yeah I think their putting him on the cover because hes the only player anywhere close to being in every madden, hes been in madden from 92 all the way up to now and since its the 20th anniversary and Madden is in love with Brett Favre. I heard hes going to be used as a wildcard in the game. Also the game is supposed to be all new, with an all new graphics engine, revamped game play and all new TV broadcast presentation thats supposed to be as real looking as it gets to watching TV, and now instead of that one guy that was on 07 and 08 for commentary it will be chris collinsworth and his partner from the fox broadcast theme.

Yeah theres an interview on letterman and the one for madden 09 on ign and he says that you can just use him as a wildcard player that hes not in the game besides that wildcard slot.

But i dont see how thats going to work, If madden has his Way Brett favre will never retire and when favre gets old theyll just scrap the whole league and Clone Brett favre so that he fills every single roster position on every nfl team and then favre will win every year and Madden will always be happy.

Madden and favre are going to run together for president with madden as prez and Favre as vice president in 2012 then that master plan i just listed will be carried out.

LOL

Well, maybe Favre should retire. We all know what happens to players when they grace the cover of any Madden game. Look at Vick, Donovan Mcnabb, Eddie George. They all have gotten hurt and had horrible seasons.

Good lord just let Queen Favre die

I'm so tired of seeing his name pop up.

He was a mediocre quarterback who receives way more attention then I feel he deserves.

Understanding that you are entitled to your own opinion, and I am not a Favre fan but you can't say he is mediocre. The guy holds the record for most yards, most TD's and completions. To even get one record is a feat but to have 3 means he is above mediocre.

He's been a pro-bowler for more than half his career. Yes he is addicted to pain killers but hey it's the NFL right

He also holds the most interceptions in a career record.

That says to me that any QB with any amount of skill can set records if all they do is throw ever play.

He also was in the NFL for what, 18 years!!!!

If Tom Brady or Peyton Manning hang around that long they will decimate Favre's records.

Well with the amount of pass attempts he made I would almost assume that he holds the record for most interceptions.

He also has been in the league for 17 years but realistically 16 since he only played in 2 games in 1991. There aren't too many people that could say that they have been a professional for that long.

I do agree with you that either Manning or Brady could break his records but that will be determined if they could survive as long as Favre did. Again I don't think he is mediocre, he isn't a legend but mediocre is being a little harsh.

I'll give you that. I grew up as a Vikings fan and was trained to despise Favre.

He is a good QB but I don't like how much attention he gets. He never did anything absolutely incredible in all the years I watched him.

I'd never say his name in the same breath as Brady, Manning, Montana etc.

There you go now we got to the bottom of it, LOL!!

Yeah I'm a huge Yankee fan and despise the Sox but I do have to admit that they have a hell of a team and Ortiz and Ramirez are probably the best 1-2 punch in baseball.

I know I'm gonna hit a sore spot but I wouldn't put Manning and Brady there yet, they are by far the best in the game right now and yes Brady and Manning will be there with the Legends, but what happens if they both go out today some may argue that they never played as long as say Montana, Marino, Unitas etc.

OK, take a breath and don't hit me too hard, LOL!!

well i c what ur saying farve is a great QB but i despise the packers which means farve i give him credit for what he does cuz he does it well but the record part any1 could bre3ak it if they passed i belieave they average 1 run per 10 throws which means alot more throwing im not a big brady fan or manning and i do give them credit but when u look at past QB morina, montant, even steave young nothing compares oh and yes im a 49er fan lions and my fav player is the all time best WR Jerry Rice

Yeah hes a good QB and He is very calm in the pocket but im not a big farve fan for all the times Hes beat my niners which have had two of the best QB's to ever play. Joe montana and steve young. Montana in my eyes is the greatest not only did he win 4 4 superbowls he won two of them against two of the other QB's said to be the greatest, Dan Marino and John Elway.

But thats why i despise favre.

i agree bret fave is over rated and the int recod just proves that he has the most passing yards for the fact that they throw so much like i said 10 to 1 thats too many thrown he needs to learn to run and im a 49er fan and lions and there both making the playoffs im calling it
