Article: LINK: Call Of Duty 4 Getting New Maps, GOTY Edition
Activision has revealed plans that should get fans of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare excited or gather new players to the acclaimed first-person shooter. First, the game is getting its first new map pack this spring on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. According to IGN, the pack, which will be
hitting in April, includes four new multiplayer maps, including Broadcast, which is based off the single-player mission set in a TV studio. Other maps include Chinatown, set in San Francisco; a daytime map called Creek that’s set in one of the Eastern European villages from the campaign and Killhouse, which is based on the indoor training mission. Reports indicate that the pack will cost 800 Microsoft Points, or about $10. The Variety Map Pack includes four new multiplayer maps. "Creek" is a wide-open village ravaged by combat where concealment is the difference between life and death. In "Broadcast," fight throughout an enemy communications building with confined corridors and wide-open parking lots. "Chinatown" is a foggy downtown district, lit only by a full moon and the neon glow of the city. "Killhouse" features a desolate training warehouse filled with a variety of building mock-ups and soft and hard cover points.
If you haven’t yet purchased the game, first, you’re missing out. Second, you’ll have another shot with the release of a Game of the Year edition. This is set for a April 4th release for the Xbox 360, featuring a new package (presumably displaying all the awards it’s won) and a token that can be used to download the mentioned map pack. There’s no official word yet if the GOTY edition will be shipping on the PlayStation 3 or PC.
