I personally take pride in playing games without the use of cheat codes or mods. However lately It seems that more and more cheaters and moders have found there way into the online gaming world. I never quite understood what would make a person want to cheat on a video game. What could doing such actions possibly accomplish attaining another level or prestiging. Who cares there is only 15 prestiges in black ops, so once you cheat your way to level 50 on the last prestige where do you go from there. I am sure it is a hollow disatisying feeling to know that all your accomplishments in a game came falsely.
The thing that astounds me even more is how angry these people get when you catch them lag switching, or using a hit mod. This happened to me over the weekend, I noticed something was going on in my black ops hardcore team deathmatch game. So i checked the connection and everyone on the opposing team connection would fluxuate between 0ne and 4 bars, and everyone on the opposing team was skipping all across the map. It became very frustrating when you sneak up behind someone with a shotgun shoot them in the back and they turn around and shoot you then skip away.
I was going to back out of the game because this usually ends the problem I have with these people, but the next round I ended up on the cheating team and listened how they laughed while playing about how no one could kill them.
I asked them why they felt the need to cheat and they replied why not. We do it just to hear everyone whine about it after the game. Then they asked me if i wanted to learn how to cheat and i said no thanks, and left the session but what was sad is how they saw nothing wrong with this.
Maybe I am old school but how pathetic in life are you when you feel the need to cheat on a video game then brag about it. I play online to have fun, interact with friends, and compete on video games in my limited free time. But to some of these people it seems that playing video games, and getting a little prestige symbol has become more. Its just a game, If people put as much effort into improving themselves versus improving there kill to death ratio maybe they might be alittle more sucessful in life.
