Game Review: The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim
The wide, multi realm, role playing game Skyrim, is the fifth game released by the Elder Scrolls franchise, released on November 11th, 2011. None other then an iconic 11/11/11. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, Skyrim was given multiple awards. Having sold more than 15 million copies by January of 2013, Skyrim has been given four awards within a year of its released. Having won the VGX Award for best RPG (2011), VGX Award for Studio of the Year (2011), Satellite Award for Outstanding Role Playing Game (2011) and Kerrang! Award for Best Video Game (2012), fans would have believed for a new game following the fifth of the franchise.
The theme, being inspired by a medieval time, included magic, dragons, elves and much more fantasy-like features. The games layout was located in Tamriel, a continent filled with magic and fantasy, which brought the fifth game of the franchise to the North Province, Skyrim. The multi-realm game came with multiple DLCs, including Dragonborn, which brought players to the ashy province of Solstheim. If you are a fan of adventure, combat, MMOs, RPGs, and saving a ridiculous amount of potions almost never going to be used, then Skyrim is the game for you.
Being welcomed to the game with a trip to your own beheading doesn't give a better welcome then "Welcome to Skyrim". Players receive the chance to pick between many character races, such as a High Elf from the Summerset Isles, a Human size lizard, the Argonians from Black Marsh, a Wood Elf from Valenwood, a Breton from High Rock, an Imperial from Cyrodiil, a local Nord, an Orc from Orsinium, a Redguard from Hammerfell, or a well rounded fan favorite, the Human size cat, a Khajiit from Elsweyr. Not only do players have a wide spread of character choices, but players get to customize their character to their liking. Don't worry, if you mess up, just go see Galathil, "The Face Sculptor," located in the Ragged Flagon for a fee of 1000, so she can change the facial features of the Dragonborn!
With the long list of quests and side quests, players will have hours and hours of pleasure trying to complete the game. Unless you are stuck playing an annoying quest such as locating numerous weird plants or weird stones. Enjoy! To continue, Todd Howard, director and executive producer at Bethesda Game Studios, stated at the Quakecon Demo it took 3 years to make this game. In other words, the creation of this game practically started right after the release of Fallout 3.
So much can be said about such an amazing game but no worries fellow Elder Scroll fans, Todd Howard has leaked a teaser trailer of the upcoming sixth game of the franchise on Twitter. It is only a matter of time until the game is out for us all.
