Epic is well aware that some of you are having problems connecting to online sessions of Gears of War and they have made a statement that should give you hope. Responding to a deluge of tech support questions and comments, a moderator on the official Epic forums has promised that a fix is on the horizon, but they don't know when.
Some gamers have been complaining about persistent problems connecting to matches. Super Moderator "fufu" responded to a patch thread by saying, "yes, a patch is in the works to address the connection issues as well as several other bugs that have been reported. not sure on an exact eta, but it won't be long..."
There is no better way to test the online component of your game than to have what seems to be every living creature playing at once. I doubt any game publishers have had to deal with the online crush that Gears has rained down. The single player campaign is incredible and immersive, but relatively short, which means that Gears of War fans will rely heavily on online play to keep the game alive.
If a patch comes soon, it probably means many of us will lose our jobs and homes, but that is a small price to pay. Next patch needed: the one you wear on your arm to get you away from GoW long enough to shower and eat. Well, at least eat.
