HALO 3 WITH NO CLAN LIST?

Rumor is that there will not be a clan list on Halo 3. Finally noone's clan can ever be hit again. All we need to do is keep up our squad list on the forums and we will be fine. There were clans before Halo and not having a clan list on the game will hopefully remove some drama from our online gaming lives. What does everyone think?

I think it just a rumor, and it would be alot better with clan list, just to identify who you represent. Even tho most dedicated XGC members do have an XGC tag, i still think clan list's in Halo 3 would be would be alot better than none. But thats just the opinion of one guy.

it is going to be harder to get people to join if there is no clan list because most people will feel that it doesnt matter if they are in a clan or not. And i also find it hard to believe that they will get rid of something that set halo apart from all the other games

there are other games with clan list and i was in a clan before halo in unreal championship and that didn't have clan list but we were still organized

It wont be harder to get people to join, all they have to do is register and post in their clan's forum that they are in.

i have no problems with not having clan lists in H3, but theres only one BIG problem if we dont have them

Getting every person we recruit to join the forums

yeah thats about it lol

exactly
about 10 ppl outta the 60 ppl in my clan are actually on the forums. mainly im the biggest one, so it will be very difficult to get them to take the time to go on the website and register, it takes some work.

i mean i keep telling my lieutenants and sergeants to tell them to join the forums, because thats where we have more information on everything. ya know

Bungie needs to relize (not saying they dont) that The Big online Communities like XGC KSI MOB ect. . . Need the clans to be more organized.

hopefully you get my point

Well technically they are not part of XGC unless they register on the forum, so those who aren't on the forum, truly are not in XGC. Also if we keep updating our clans list we will have no problems staying organized. Plus without clans it will force people to register on the forum because then they will not be part of XGC what so ever, where as now they are in a XGC clan yet not registered on the forum.

well everyone in my clan is registered, its just that 10 ppl from my clan are the only ones who post on the forums. ya know, i go to my clans sub forum to check out new things, and hardly anything is really ever updated unless its something that I put.

We will be fine if there is no clan list. I mean, I was in clans before Halo 2 and they didn't have clan lists.

What im wondering is if there will be increase in the # of players in an online game. I mean 16 is cool, but I would like for it to be more than that. Like 24 people at least. I guess it just depends if the maps will be bigger than th Halo 2 maps.

yea but if theres like a million ppl runnin round one map at the same time, your bound to get kills stolen left and right, so idk, it would be fun, but at the same time it would kinda suck a little.

Word on the street is that they ARE keeping the clan lists. No matter what happens, XG will prosper and grow. I admit, in some ways it would make it easier to keep track.

But I do have to say that since I started getting into the 360 games, my drama level has reduced DRASTICALLY. Because we're forum-based. Not Halo2-based. And there's no such thing as hitting a clan. There is no clan to hit. No one can alter your friends list (well, without hacking, and who is going to do that?). You are friends with who you want to be friends with, and remove who you don't. Simple. Easy.

My only additional thought is that the socialization in Halo 2 has really helped members network. Again, stressing the website is crucial. And usage is necessary, otherwise people won't meet other people. I can't begin to tell you how many XGC members I have met through the forums. Networking is great in Halo 2 (and other games), but the forums are the key to our survival as a multiple game/platform community.
