HALO JUMPING IN CALL OF.DUTY

In CoD I like to call it Scuf Jumping. the reason being is alot of CoD players use scuf controllers with paddles on the back that they use to jump around. Jumping around in Black Ops can be the difference between life and death. In the Modern Warfare series its all about Drop Shotting, in Black Ops it Halo Jumping aka Scuff Jumping.

I am not saying everyone who hops around has a scuf controller. But there are people you can tell clearly use one. I jump around corners when I know there is an enemy just sitting there because it helps to throw them off gaurd and most of the time I can beat out the camper just by performing a simple jump and shooting.

Personally I have nothing against Halo Jumping in CoD, just another skill/tactic to give you an advantage.

For me its all about.realism in war games. Some things in so called realistic fps just shouldn't work because it would never happen irl. I do agree that it is a tactic but if you overuse it then it is a cheap tactic. Jumping should never make others bullets miss you., unless you are Michael Jordan lol

I agree with your point about it not happening in IRL. However the Call of Duty Franchise has never really been a real tactical squad based Warfare game. If you are looking for more realistic then play some battlefield 3. Jumping around isnt going to help you in that game and neither will drop shotting lol. Fact of the matter is call of duty, though it has some realistic aspects, has never been aimed at being a realistic game. I mean is there a hardcore and core option IRL, or in real life does it take more than one headshot to kill a person?

I mean I am completely against people who have to use modded controllers to be what people refer to as good... but they are out there and its something we are always going to have to face in any online game.

I dont understand how jumping can help you out when you are getting shot and you dont die first. it pisses me off when i am shooting you and you jump and you kill me i dont get that its like every one has to find a way to boost or hack a game to win they aren't good enough to just play and have fun but they have to find way's to cheat and then want to talk all big and bad like they are good

I like realism in games but come on. Its a game. I have no idea about this "scuff" thing but I do halo jump over boxes that block my view or jump around corners I will even dropoff ledges & go prone just to have a chance to live in the game. Its about how to use your surroundings & skills to your advantage. I used to suck at drop shots until I started practicing. Its like quick scoping. I still cant seem to aim correctly.

Also halo jumping and all that is NOT boosting or hacking off any kind

I second that layzie. CoD is NOT the most realistic gaming experience for lovers of war games that are shooters. This is simply a shooter game with a background of war. Not even a REAL war, its now based on stuff that has never and probably will never happen. As for the 'scuff' jumping as you call it, as well as drop shots, I get annoyed as well, but once I started to try to use it to MY advantage as well, it changed my life! Adds a completely new dynamic to a firefight. Try not to think in terms of realism, but more as a control system. Just another way to get the job done!

Wouldn't it be.. cod jumping, in cod? :p

i find it works sometimes. people can't handle moving, shooting, and keeping aim on a moving bouncing target.

I hate when people do that If u do it your not good at tht game. I'm bad at multiplayer on cod but does anyone see me doing it? No cuz I don't cheat I play the game like it was Ment to be played

I don't see halo jumping as cheating i just see it as giving yourself a slight advantage in certain situations. Because halo jumping is technically taking a risk because it doesn't always work. So Yea I'd rather that than drop shoting i hate that lol but that's just me.

I am a Halo Jumper. I use it majority of the time. What I have found it does is that when you jump you strafe in the air. Also your gun moves less in the air than it does on the ground strafing.

Pros:
-Harder target if your target is mid to close range
-Better accuracy than drop shotting
-Easier to continue maneuvering afterwards

Cons:
-Easier to see from a distance
-Takes time to master

In the end it is all up to the player whether on not they choose to use it. I myself use it a lot.
