Hey man! I actually got out of the military last year, I spent 7 years in the Army. I was stationed with the 75th Ranger Regiment for about 3 years and then off to active reserve land, two deployments..one to afghanistan and then to Iraq. But I know since the military is drawing down in Afghanistan you really need to know what you want to do, if you do ensure that you specifically tell your recruiter and make sure he/she supports you on your decision, many recruiters are trying to put men that meet a certian criteria into 11X slots or special forces and there is no other options, just make sure you plan and you are doing it for the right reasons.

The benefits are practically the same go where you want because you don't want to regret it later. Also pick a job that transfers to the civilian world. best advice is do something that you can get top secret or secret clearance in. They transfer over and alot of government jobs prefer you already have a clearance.

Yea I agree with R8TD, 11 series is useless in the civilian world unless your planning on doing certain government contract work or joining a security firm or the police department. But if your serious spend some time definitely finding something that you will enjoy, because if you dont find something and you join a branch and mos on a hunch....then your military experience maybe not as glorious as you wanted it to be and you may hate it.

yeah im going to talk to my recruiter today about what im planning on doing in the next three months ya know so wish me luck guys

Infantry isn't just about shooting bad guys.. Keep in mind, you better be ready to bust your hump and work hard.. The Infantry is nicknamed "Grunts" because we do all the work noone else wants to do.. and usually for no explained reason....

I have a friend who went "Combat Medic" or what is known as 68W Health Care Specialist... You may not be as excited about this MOS after getting in.. Unless you have plans to work your way into a High speed unit (Infantry, Rangers, SF, or such).. Then you could really get some good Civilian training from this..
Benefits are all the same from Branch to Branch.. It's the school and enlistment benefits.. Its not about these two.. If you wanna go to school, via the Military be a cook or something stupid that you wont deploy and you can do your school on your time.. Enlistment bonuses come from Critical MOS's deemed in need by the US Military.. Theres alot more to consider then benefits, its all about you.. It's like buying a car that will actually help you get a job and a career later in life.. The more thought and choice you put into it now, the more you will reap later...

Good luck and I wish you well.

PS Everyone has opinions of each branch and MOS's, and typing to people on a website about it isn't the best way to make a decision... I would reach out to actual Military people who are currently doing the specific MOS and talk to them face to face.. May be hard. but look into it.. They will tell you the NO SH*T assessment of what that MOS is...
