Interview: XGC Twitty XS
Recently XGC Twitty XS took some time from her busy schedule of motherhood and Section leader to do a interview. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. XGC
Twitty XS is truly a inspiration for girl gamers everywhere.
Yoda: How long have you been in Xiled Gaming Twitty?
Twitty: Since August of 2007.....Ahhh the memories. Are you gonna be like Barbara Walters and make me cry? LOL!!
Yoda: It's not Barbara Walters words that cause crying, it's her face. So no worries lol
Yoda: Who recruited you?
Twitty: I was recruited by the General of 82nd Airborne and the Section Leader, both of whom are no longer with XG. I really didnt want to join XG at first, but the more BigBeso and I were online, the more XG people befriended me. I was surrounded. They were very adamant about it, so I gave in lol.
Yoda: What games do you play beside Halo?
Twitty: I have dabbed in a little Gears and CoD but for the most part I love the arcade games like UNO and Tetris. I am old school. I am not really good at any other first person shooters besides Halo...haha...can you tell?
Yoda: Your a Halo fanatic. Who is your Halo crew?
Twitty: Since I mostly play Halo, most of my clans mostly play Halo as well and so I always have an entourage of different people. I love playing with everyone! It's sooo fun!
Yoda: Have you reached Highest Skill 50 yet?
Twitty: No. I got my 45 when H3 first came out, but haven't tried too hard to go higher since. I think it's harder now...maybe I waited too long. I am thinking about checking up on E-Bay for one lol
Yoda: XGC Darlink and XGC Wookie are twins. They both claim to be better than you at Halo 3. Is this true or are they pulling my leg?
Twitty: Soooo irritating, but yes it's true. They both are much better. Talk about no life LOL!!
Yoda: I noticed your gamerscore is rather low. Care to explain this slacking?
Twitty: I am a mommy of a 6 year old, a 8 year old, and a 32 year old. I have to share MY box with the 32 year old. That's part of the reason. The rest is because I'm not really good at anything besides Halo and well, I am all maxed out
Yoda: If the council decided tomorrow you had to have a gamerscore of 10k or higher to be section leader, would you work your but off to get there or beg me to use my skill to get ya there?
Twitty: I would work my butt off to get there. I would totally buy all the little kid games to make it easier lol. You could help if you want
Yoda: So how is it like bieng married to one of our great division leaders? Any perks to it?
Twitty: He is definately great! We stay out of each other's XG business, it works out better that way. However, I am greatful for the benefit of his experience and he's a great advice giver when needed......but he is never a final decision. I always go to another XD.
Yoda: How is it like playing games on one xbox with your hubby?
Twitty: Funny you ask. When we first started going out the Xbox was irritating. But then I started watching him play because I couldn't watch TV or use the computer because it made things "laggy" whatever that meant. I then decided I wanted him to teach me how to play because I figured he won't give up the box and it would be something we could do together. The rest is history!
Yoda: So everyone has been fighting in the XGC Kurrupt ND forums about who is your favorite friend. Care to enlighten us on that subject?
Twitty: Haha! I love each and every person in different ways, kind of like the way you love your kids. Kurrupt ND has a rich history with XG. They are all real good friends and play together all the time, and I am proud to be a part of that!! I love them all!!
Yoda: So other than Mommy of the year, do you work?
Twitty: When my daughter was 4 years old, we went through some pretty tough family stuff. It was especially hard on my daughter. I chose to quit working so I could be physically and emotionally available to my kids. I am lucky enough to be able to choose whether I want to work or not because of my BigBeso. I think maybe some more schooling and work will be in the near future, but for now my family and my children rule my world.
Yoda: Do your children play games? How old are they?
Twitty: My daughter is 8 years old my son is 6 years old. They love games and they primarily play Nintendo DS. My son LOVES to watch us play Xbox and he claims one day he wants to learn how to play Halo... I think he knows I'm a noob at first person shooters lol.
Yoda: Tell us about the name Twitty, any special meaning to the name?
Twitty: As a matter of fact there is. When Beso taught me how to play Halo, at some point he was satisfied with me enough to grant me the honor of getting my own gamertag (can you feel the sarcasm?). We couldnt think of ANYTHING. One day we were wrestling around and I told him that if he didn't stop trying to cop a feel, I was going to give him a twittytister. For some reason it was the funniest thing ever and we laughed and laughed. We decided my gamertag was going to be twittytister. Since then it has gone through some changes and that is why I am now XGC Twitty XS.
Yoda: Who do you admire the most in XG?
Twitty: There are a handfull of people I really admire. If I had to choose one, it would be XGC OCM XC. I think we identify with each other for a number of reasons, and being able to move up with so many glass ceilings in a primarily male environment is something I admire and am proud of as well for myself and other females.
Yoda: I have a ton of respect for you, how does that make you feel?
Twitty: *blushing* It makes me feel accomplished! I have always tried to be real and down to earth. I want everyone to know that we are all friends and no one is better than the other. But when it comes down to XG business we all know our place and I think that people are more receptive to some constructive criticism or a good old *** chewing BECAUSE we are friends and respect each other.
Yoda: So Twitty, we have been friends for a year. Any regrets?
Twitty: Zero regrets! I value our friendship
Yoda: How does bieng a girl in XG effect you?
Twitty: It doesn't affect me, but maybe it affects other people's (who don't already know me) opinion or attitude towards me or a situation. In my opinion, XG has been very supportive and encouraging to female gamers. Female gamers are recognized and celebrated!
Yoda: Would you join XGG if asked to?
Twitty: I would not because I have such a history and connection with XGC that I am perfectly happy where I am! If it ain't broke, why fix it?
Yoda: What is your long term goal for your clans?
Twitty: My Long term goal is to see them flourish and split as many times as they can, and help and support in any way I can. There is something so satisfying about watching people become friends, then good friends and working together to make wonderful things happen. It makes me very proud and honored to be a part of that.
Yoda: So how did you move up the ranks to section leader?
Twitty: I put in work! I was consistently dedicated and patient. I always tried my best and when necessary I went above and beyond to get something accomplished. I also had a wonderful support system above me, and so that is what I do my best to provide to my clans.
Yoda: Do you desire to become a Division Leader like your hubby?
Twitty: I would love to become a Division Leader one day! They don't do anything!! LOL J/K. Seriously though, I would absolutely love to become a Division Leader one day. Hopefully it lies in my future in XG.
Yoda: If you could change anything about XG or the way things are done in your clans, what would it be?
Twitty: When I first joined, I was impressed with XG, what it stands for, and how the rank structure worked. That is what hooked me into joining. I still firmly believe in those ideas, so that being said, I would not change a thing. If I absolutely HAD to pick something, I would wish that we were ALL in the same time zone so it would be easier to ALL play together everyday!
On a less serious note:
Yoda: What is something few people know about you?
Twitty: I was originally recruited into XGC 82nd Airborne.
Yoda: When your not gaming, what do you like to do?
Twitty: Depending on the season, I love to BBQ and hang out at the pool! I also love watching UFC with my man and friends. We also get together ALOT and play board games like Cranium and Pictionary. Omg hilarious! Last but not least, we play poker....alot. There is usually 5 to 10 people and a pot consisting of 10 bucks a person. You would think it was a million dollar jackpot or something.....but personally I think it's the bragging rights for that weekend
Yoda: What is your most embarrasing moment?
Twitty: One time I thought I was cool and I challenged this trash talking jerk whom lost to me the first time, to a 1v1. I was doing good at first ( and when I say at first I mean like the first 10 seconds) and then things totally went downhill. He got a hold of a shotgun and for some reason that was it. He then recorded the whole game and sent it to me with a nasty voice message I won't repeat. Beso was laughing so hard he was purple and I learned my lesson. I claim interference because there was a glare on the TV! That's my excuse and I'm stickin to it!
Yoda: Tell us about a funny moment in a game?
Twitty: There are many. I have the tendency to get giddy when there is a bad losing streak and the giddy-ness is contagious. I'm beyond annoyed and then I just stop caring and then EVERYTHING becomes hilarious. Some great one liners have been born out of those moments lol.
Yoda: Any bad habits you want to break?
Twitty: Yeah XGC BigBeso XD needs to stop playing Tiger Woods Golf when I'm trying to go to bed.
Yoda: Funniest person you know?
Twitty: Hands down my BigBeso. Things have come out of my nose and I've peed a little a few times.
Yoda: Any fears?
Twitty: Yes. That one day I'm gonna wake up and find that I wasn't such a great mommy afterall.
Yoda: If you had superpowers what would they be?
Twitty: Reading minds.
Yoda: Finally, Would you go to Disneyland with me just because we can?
Twitty: ABSOLUTELY!! How fun would that be? You gotta buy me mouse ears though
I hope you enjoyed the interview with Twitty. It was fun to interview not only a good friend, but my own section leader. Twitty and I are headed for disneyland with our families and I plan to buy her some mouse ears.
