Job Purpose:
Increase awareness of The Xiled Gaming Company’s work among the public through the online, print and broadcast news media by managing media relationships, developing media relations materials and counseling leadership and staff on media matters. (Position will focus on a minimum of 5 key responsibilitie s listed below). Communicate The Xiled Gaming Company’s ethics and demonstrate a quality of online gaming that is an example to others.

Key Responsibilitie s:

Strategic Direction
Set strategic direction for engaging media in coordination with senior leadership.
Define short- and long-term media relation's goals, recommending programs and activities to meet those goals.

Writing
Develop and write media relation's materials for publication at the national level.

Media Relations
Build and nurture strategic relationships with reporters, editors and producers of major U.S.-based print and broadcast news organizations along with online avenues with the goal of having The Xiled Gaming Company "top of mind" when these journalists are considering covering issues or events related to gaming needs, resulting in significant placement of XGC stories.
Create and develop strategic relationships with corporate public relations offices as requested.

Project Management
Manage the overall coordination, status reporting and stability of media relations campaigns or project- oriented work efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope and resource requirements.

Research
Conduct research on various topics as required, providing analysis and recommendations to Media Relations team and/or senior leadership as needed.

Marketing Communications
Plan and oversee strategic promotional events/ campaigns in order to increase media coverage.

Spokesperson
Serve as The Xiled Gaming Company spokesperson on a variety of sensitive issues as needed.
Provide advanced media training and strategic advise to senior leadership regarding how to effectively engage the media.

Management
May hire, train, and terminate.
Prepare and monitor Media Team budget.

Risk Assessment
Conduct risk analysis on sensitive Xiled Gaming Company programs and projects providing findings and recommendations to senior leadership on potential media related issues and necessary corporate communications.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

Oral Communication (Public Relations) – Advanced
Effectively transfers thoughts and expresses ideas verbally in individual or group situations. Speaks persuasively and convincingly. Can communicate the value of a story or idea to press contacts in limited time.

Public Relations – Proficient
Uses familiarity with the print and broadcast media to identify target audiences, package content in a way that will ensure publication, and communicate a desired perspective or image.

Concise Communication – Proficient
Conveys complex issues, events and concepts in succinct, easy-to- understand language, both in writing and orally.

News Judgment - Proficient
Anticipates the extent, degree and length of news coverage of a particular story or issue, and plan media relation’s strategy accordingly.

English Language Proficiency - Proficient
The ability to speak, understand and write fluently in English.

Pro ficient - Capable of performing virtually all work assigned in this area of technical competence.

Minimum Education / Experience:
Experience in journalism, English or related field. Broad and deep experience in journalism, corporate communications, client relations or related field.
