LIMITED EDITION CONSOLES

Does anyone know how the limited edition consoles are handled upon repairs, etc?

For example, if I have a Modern Warfare 2 version of a 360 and it got the RRoD, would they replace it with the exact same model?

If it's just "repair" then they obviously send you the same console. I've found that they do that less than you might think. They generally just replace the console entirely for major issues. (As they want to get problematic consoles out of usage because it reflects poorly on them.)

They will give you back a refurbished limited edition console that was someone elses, then repair yours and then send that to some else. They basically cycle them. The only time they will not do this is if your console has one of those custom sticker skins on it and you have notified them about it. For this reason do not send in the harddrive or any peripherals with the console.

If they do make a mistake a send you back a refurbished console that is not lt. edition immediately contact them. They will send the correct one and then offer some form of compensation. If it cannot be fixed for whatever reason while under warranty they may give you a new console. As the MW2 ones never sold out you should get a new MW2 one back, if they do not have it in stock there they will give you one up to the same standard i.e a 250gb s console + compensation (gold cards, even sometimes peripherals).
