If you continue following the rank requirements you will be awarded this position eventually, XG isn't a game- its not all about 'leveling up'. Everything good takes time remember. Also express your interest in the SGT's position to your general- but don't ask for it, most of us generals don't like that.

PRIVATE

The first responsibility of a private is to register at www.XILEDGAMING.com. A Private can be classified as a new member to XG. Responsibilities of a Private include knowing the Honor Code, meeting other XG members, and participating in clan matches. Your time as a Private is geared towards letting you get familiar with the XG community and the professional manner in which we play.

Privates Responsibilities:
1. Register at www.xiledgaming.com. This must be done in a timely manner or their position in the squad will be terminated.
2. Learn, understand and follow the Honor Code.
3. Learn and follow the rank structure and chain of command.
4. Participate in squad activities.

SERGEANT

A Sergeant is a XG gamer who has earned the privilege of getting a XG gamer tag once approved by their Section Leader and or General. As a Sergeant, leaders will be depending on you to learn game strategies and train with others in order to better prepare for clan matches. You will be expected to be an example to the Privates and recruits below you and to help them when ever possible. Remember You are now an offical Representative of your clan.

Sergeants Responsibilities:
1. Follow the Honorcode.
2. Follow the chain of command
3. Be an example to Privates and Recruits and help them when ever possible.
4. Work closely with Lieutenants and Captains to learn new game strategies, attend practices and train others.

LEVELING UP

Leveling Up

As much as I admire your desire to rank up, I must ask...WHY?

It may seem like a silly question, but I promise you your answer is VERY RELAVENT.

As a General, I ask this question of all who rank up within my clan...Why do you want to rank up? Our ranking system, if used correctly, is about a commitment. A commitment to squad, clan, division, community and most of all FUN.

This type of commitment will help you to do ALL requirements both in principle and in spirit. A few examples of what I mean are:

  • though the rank of Sergeant is still a gamer level, it also holds the tasks of learning the responsibility of Lieutenant. If you do not plan on becoming a Lieutenant, why be promoted.
  • meetings are required by most clans. Just showing up means just that...you just showed up. While you are there, interact; offer opinions; ask questions; correct things that are wrong; show you take interest in your squad, clan etc.
  • practices are for fellowship as well as strategy. If you see that you can offer advice on how others can play the game better...do it. It isn't fun if you are the only one doing well.
  • being part of recruitment means introductions, playing with new recruits, making them aware of all we have to offer and offering an opinion on if they fit within our community (and where they best fit). You should be able to grow the community as well as your squad.
  • respecting the Honor Code is not just knowing it, but ENFORCING it when others violate them. Remember the name of your squad, clan, division and community is like the surname you hold. Will you let a stranger disrespect your family name?
    [/LIST

So answering the "WHY" question helps to gauge your level of seriousness, dedication and COMMITMENT.

Show your potential in your deeds. POST, RECRUIT, MAKE MEETINGS, MAKE PRACTICES, UPHOLD your HONOR CODE, PLAY WITH DIGNITY, and COMMUNICATE as a minimum. And above all else, HAVE FUN doing it. The rest will work itself out.

Other members have their own way to interpret your potential/readiness for promotion. I offer you mine. If you follow it, it will be hard for anyone not to see you as the type of member this community needs to promote.
