i dunno, but the roman numerals are wrong for 8...it should be VIII...not IIX...unless it didn't fit?
Now lets Have a math lesson
In Roman Numerals you can take a number up with 3 characters any way so lets do this. The highest number is on the right side you are subtracting. (IIX-8) When it is on the left side you are adding (VIII-8)
I-This is one
V-This is five
X-This is ten
L-This is fifty
C-This is one hundred
D-This is five hundred
M-This is one thousand
Larger numbers were indicated by putting a horizontal line over them, which meant to multiply the number by 1,000. H This usage is no longer current, because the largest numbers usually expressed in the Roman system are dates, as discussed above.

V-This would mean five thousand
