November 2008: Recruited into SYN Pain (COD4, SYN Giggity, SYN DNUGS XS, Inactive clan)
Very short lived due to activity, aside from my Captain, General, XS (Who shortly all left the community less than 2 months later) and the handful of people I recruited it was a lost cause.
Early 2009: Transferred to SYN Dynasty (H3, SYN MacDub, SYN DEADEY3 XS, Powerhouse Clan)
Fun fact: Prior to the Dynasty/New Dynasty revival between 11', and 12', SYN Dynasty Bolstered (and still might)
the 2nd or 3rd most posts on the entire XG site, only behind SYN AfterShock and an XGC clan idr anymore.
of my 10,000+ posts (I had at one point reached 20,000 but lost about 10k due to the deletion of clans and threads I had posted in for a long time)
I'd have to venture and say if that clan thread was ever completely deleted I'd have like no posts on this website, we were truly XG Forum addicts,
all throughout the day if you hit refresh button there was a guaranteed 3 new posts!
It might not have gotten all the recognition it deserved, but MacDub was a truly above and beyond leader who prior to his inactivity was probably the most deserving General to not reach XS; He was a huge inspiration to me throughout my many roles of leadership over the years. He was like a Bill Belichick to me, He brought me from a 08' 0-16 Detroit Lions team to the New England Patriots of our Division in XG. Aside from his leadership and guidance I had taken away from him, I was also in an All-Star caliber Chain of Command with SYN DEADEY3 XS, SYN Slayer XS was also a General in our Section. Countless leaders arose from just our 2009' Dynasty Under MacDub/ DeadEy3.
Later 2009: Worked my way up to Captain in SYN Dynasty, went onto SYN Arsenal as a Captain with SYN MacDub in a short lived split at sometime in this time period as well. (General SYN Instinct/SYN MacDub, SYN DEADEY3 XS, MW2/H3)
At this period in time in XG, clans were much larger, and squads were as well! My squad as a Captain had 15-20 people in it, our clan was 50+ and it was common for clans to split between 45-60 people.
2010: I was hit with a rough case of RRoD
My first of many stints of inactivity, notably due to RRoD and being a 15 year old with no job this was an unavoidable circumstance.
At this point in time in XG, with the exception of XGC the remainder of the community had no age requirement like they do now, I was 15 at this time.
During this time period of inactivity I met my now wife for the first time <3
2011: I returned as a Captain in SYN Revolution (General SYN Impluse XS, SYN Slayer XS, CoD Black Ops)
I was just getting back into the feel for gaming, let alone leadership after a long absence and a lengthy con of my mom to loan me money to get an Xbox 360 again now that I had a job. I was a fellow Captain with SYN Seven XS actually, us along with Impulse built up a solid clan/squads.
Late 2011: SYN Revolution split and I was Promoted to General in SYN Xplicit XK, I also joined Xiled Design (XS Slayer/Impulse, Halo Reach/CoD)
My first real stint as General and well it was a damn good one, within 2 month we had 4 fully active squads and were priming for a split of our own!
I had a great group of Captains under me but most notably SYN Indie Slim, a good friend who had been brought to me by SYN Impluse XS and for his brief leadership in XG was a damn good captain that went on to become General for a short stint in SYN Xplicit XK After we had split;
Xiled Design was much different then, there were a lot more designers and it was ran by XGC KillnTyme XD (Still my favorite animation designer I've witnessed with my own eyes in XG to this day, he was a God among men at animation) This was prior to the attempt at there being an XDC (Xiled Design Clan) A Dvision at one point in XG history that was primarily focused on design, it was ultimately short lived because well it's a bit harder to recruit and get more than just the existing sum of members for a division based around design. It was a fun period of time in Xiled Design something was always going on, I wanna say the team had upwards of 20 some members filled with from what I can remember a lot of talent, I just wish at the time I was half the designer I am now; but hey that's what got me where I am now (Well and of course 2 years of Multimedia/Design classes at Vocational School doesn't hurt either)
(Although his XG life was short lived, years after in like 2015 I went on to work with SYN Indie Slim IRL, in a crew traveling through Ohio and Michigan doing vendor resets for a screw company at all the Home Depot's in the two states.)
Late 2011/Early 2012: I had split SYN Xplicit XK back into my home clan SYN Dynasty (XS Impulse, CoD MW3)
Probably still my biggest and most proud moment as a leader! We built SYN Dynasty (A then Dead Clan) into a Powerhouse once again!!!!
It's crazy for me to think of the future leaders that came up just from this one squad and clan we built from the ground up!
SYN Caesar (Later SYN Maverick XD) was The Captain in our only squad, with SYN Prophet (Later SYN Prophet/Priest XS) as his Lt.
and we're not done there, under them as a Sargent was (later SYN Silent XD) all from just one squad!!! A lot of future Generals and Captain also came up through the ranks in what would be the future squads of all those above mentioned leaders, but that's more due to their hard work and dedication in rebuilding SYN Dynasty back.
Still Early 2012: SYN Dynasty split into SYN Exodus Prophet/Priest was made General, I was promoted to Section Leader, and SYN Caesar was promoted to General in SYN Dynasty
(SYN ThirdEye XS, CoD MW3)
All the hard work finally paid off!! Our section was really starting to get solid, we had a lot of blossoming leaders and a good core was starting to form; However with good things often come unforeseen circumstances, IRL my life was falling apart, my longtime gf and I were in rocky water, high school and trying to graduate and go on to something in life and those anxieties consumed and drowned me. Looking back it was things that could've been avoided and better balanced, but in my life falling apart has been a long precursor to any remote success I've enjoyed.
CLAN LIFE WAS MY ESCAPE THOUGH AND IT WAS GREAT!! I still can't believe I let it all slip and circum to just having to drop it, I still kick myself and wonder how much further the road of leadership could've taken me.
I HATED MW3, and was starting to hate CoD in general but that was all anyone in my section and for the whole of XG played for the most part.
June 2012: With 4 Clans in my section SYN Dynasty, SYN Xplicit XK, SYN Exodus, and SYN Final Fight?, (I just know I had 4 at the time) I decided it best for me personally to take a break a take a leave of inactivity.
Just as quickly as it started it was all over, things didn't "Crash or Burn" they went on life as normal and all with the exception of SYN Xplicit XK which saw it's demise shortly after, however everyone else stepped up in their leadership roles and continued to build and not let my break slow their course. I was proud of everyone in my section and when I ultimately came back, it was a breathe of fresh air to see so many firmilar faces still around and climbing their own ladder of leadership!
January/Febuary 2013: I pursued a come back to Activity and leadership, ultimately was given Captain of my own squad in a brand new empty shell clan 'The SYNdicate' (General: None, Captain: Me, I was operating without an XS directly under SYN REZ XD)
It was exciting for me 'The SYNdicate' was a staple, one of the original 8 clans that started SYN way back in the day, aside from the 7's (Seven Deadly Sins) To my knowledge, to that point that clan since its inception was never brought back or attempted as a rebuild until I took the project on in early 13'. The idea came from when I was in SYN Dynasty and we split into SYN Arsenal, SYN MacDub pleading and begging to be split into 'The SYNdicate' it was a dream one of my mentors had and never came to fruition, so I in honor and with appreciation and respect for him did it as a way to not only restore some quality XG history, but also continue on his name in my own way on my journey through leadership again.
A fellow longtime friend from the 2008' days of SYN, SYN IzzY had recently joined back up and was placed as a Captain in a clan he didn't really have much interest in being in, so after some prying from Rez and a whole bunch of unnecessary drama, he was transferred in with me in 'The SYNdicate' working his way up shortly to my Lt. then after our squad and leadership within our squad was in place, I was eventually promoted to General and the real fun and avalanche of some of my greatest XBL moments came flooding in!!!
We not only were a tight nit quality group of gamers, we were best friends a concept to me that although wasn't foreign with a person or two had never assimilated itself in this fashion with me in the whole clan grasp of things, and as a WHOLE! WE HAD A GREAT CORE, IzzY and I's approach to our Clan was more of a be there to lead and guide, but not to control, always be present. The clan as a whole we were just plain having fun, and doing it in a laid back anxiety free fashion, we had a solid leadership, good bones, and quality members but we were having the times of our lives doing it, not just dredging and blindly climbing the ladder for our own gain, we were truly a collective at this point, it didn't feel like a clan; it felt like a support system, a brotherhood, something you wanted to be apart of.
WE FINALLY STARTED PLAYING A GAME AND BUILDING A CLAN AROUND A GAME THAT WASN'T HALO OR COD!!!!
We had an epic amount of fun on Battlefield 3, We actually rented a server for damn near 6 months, and had a very successful and popular server on BF3, not just within XG but within the BF3 community as a whole, the server was running (And usually full 24/7)
Late Spring 2013: I was promoted to General of 'The SYNdicate' and IzzY took over my squad (SYN Silent XS, BF3/CoD Black Ops II)
It seemed like it took forever for this to happen, but we enjoyed ourselves and with time it came, our clan was really starting to blossom and we were at 2 or 3 squads at this point, things were moving in the right direction! We had a squad going on BF3 at all times at the very least 2 or 3 members on the server usually day and night. I miss these days, gaming for me was at its peak and I loved coming home from work everyday to a full lobby and party of my clan mates/friends having the greatest time.
Late 2013, Early 2014: Still running strong (SYN Silent XS, BF4/CoD Ghost, GTA V)
Not too much change, we were running 4 squads now, the only really difference was we built up very slow and steady and not rushed, that wasn't new to me, but was done at a lot slower pace than usual but it was nice and we had just as strong of a core and our clan was getting nice and solid.
BF4 was kinda a farce, since Xbox One was on the horizon, the whole BF4 on 360 felt rushed and not really supported by EA (Took them like 8 months to add a rent a server feature) We still rocked out on BF4 but the overall community and togetherness and hype we had from BF3 was slowly starting to extinguish. It was still fun and we still rode it till the wheels fell off but the whole allure of having a BF Clan/Squads was starting to turn it's focus more towards CoD, we played and were going into the direction of GTA V, although it never really took off we had a presence on it, and a lot of our clan members played a fair amount of GTA V. Sometime in the early 2014 time period a now famous XG leader was recruited into our ranks Rocket440 (AKA XGC Karma XC) She quickly worked through the ranks and not too long after joining was promoted to Captain and running a solid squad!
OH!!! AND JUST FOR THE RECORD, CALL OF DUTY GHOSTS WAS AN AWFUL GAME, WORST COD EVER HANDS DOWN!
Mid/Late 2014: Rebuilding After Xbox One confusion (SYN SIlent XS CoD, BF4, GTA V, XB1)
It was confusing and ultimately a lot of clans took their toll from people being lost in the transition to Xbox One, ours wasn't so much of a loss, just more of a burn out with some people having made the switch, some having not, some playing different games now, some just losing interest because the whole thing was kinda confusing and sloppy. It was a darker time, some squads fell, we had some members leave, and overall it was more of a reset to start going back in the right direction more than anything. There were inactivity problems among our leadership in parts of this time frame but ultimately by later months of 2014 things were back on tack and we were working on beefing up our core and getting some solid squads built and in place.
Late Late 2014: A split was eminent and eventually happened (SYN Silent XS, CoD, BF4, GTA V, XB1)
After the hard work at getting back on track and the confusion of the Xbox One transition, we finally had a good enough sized and stable clan to begin the preparations of a split. The plan and deal was always when I came back active that if I split I would be promoted back to XS the position to which i stepped down from prior, however this took a little after the fact to materialize. SYN Karma was split off with her squad into a new clan SYN Divergent, we began to work towards beefing the clan back up.
Early 2015: I was promoted back to Section Leader, SYN IzzY was promoted to General of 'The SYNdicate', Life issues/Stepping down as XS (Destiny, CoD)
FINALLY! Back in the saddle again! Had 3 clans and was just starting to put some work back into being an XS! For some reason I could probably verbatim recite and recall most XG related discussions or moments I had from 08'- 11' but the 2015 time period and issues I had at home and the things I endured during that time period outside Xbox have really drawn a blank for me on a lot of what happened in XG during that time, most people places, games, things that I did during that time period within XG I don't recall. I wish I could go on some big detailed description of what things were like and what I remember however that era is just a giant "?" to me.
On February 8th we welcomed my son Weston into the world! However with the addition of that and the stress and issues within the relationship it presented my life with activity issues, my role as a XS was untimely cut to an abrupt end after having to step down not long after his birth. This was my last noted leadership or clan activity within XG as a result, the decision to step down was hard after having since 2013 worked my way back up to what I had lost prior in 2012, my Section Leader rank, this time it stung harder, knowing it wasn't just a balance issue or something I could've avoided but ultimately derailed my journey of leadership in XG and well my life too for that matter...
By the time we had split (Son was 3/4 months old) I was for the most part exiled from his life, I had a very vindictive and cold ex, she used my son against me, and ended up married and living out of state by the end of 2015, the whole time period is something I like to forget because of all the pain associated..
I will add more about my gaming and personal history during the later time periods to this date and age soon, however for the most part maybe minor details aside this is the synopsis of my XG History.
