NEED A NEW HEADSET...RECOMMENDATIONS?

READ BEFORE POSTING GET A TURTLE BEACH!!!!!!!

Here is my sad sad story about xbl headsets.

I have never broken a headset by damaging it, or anything so don't accuse me of being clumsy...lol

Total number of headsets-

Standard Microsoft Headset-7...all broken(defects) $20 each

Microsoft Wireless Headsets-2 both defects $50

turtle beach x3-1 $100 just freaking broke at the hinge for no reason after 3 months of use.

Mad Catz- 1 $15 occasionally shocked me

Logitech- 1 $10 never worked

TOTAL MONEY WASTED ON HEADSETS- OVER $400
SOMONE PLEASE HELP ME FIND A HEADSET THAT WORKS, IS UNDER OR AROUND $50 AND DOESN'T SUCK!

SteelSeries Siberia Neckband headset has pretty good reviews, im not sure if its $50 bucks where you live though.... And you will need the SteelSeries Xbox 360 Headset Connector so it may put the price up too.....

Turtle Beach HPX are the best headphones you can get right now IF you buy the Astro A40 Mixamp to use with them. The headphones cost a total of $55 and can only be bought online as far as I know. The mixamp costs almost double that at $120 but it is definitely worth it if you want a quality headset.

If you don't want to put the money in for the mix amp, I can't really help you. I apologize if this doesn't help.

If anything as a last resort buy a cell phone headset. My dad used one of those and got me hooked on it too. They are usually pretty durable to. Or check out the new throat mic they have now. I have that as well and it works perfect for me.

I use X31s right now and my only complaint is the chat cable sucks. Its a real loose connection that causes static and echo but if I'm not chatting the game sound quality in them is great

yeah there's a new COD MW2 mic out that wraps around your neck... that may be what some of you are talking about, but i'm not sure... they run 29.99 at gamestop (i work there for my second job)

I very highly recommend the turtle beach x31. It really sux that yours broke after 3 months. I've only had mine for about a month, but they have already changed the way I play MW2. I can hear so much more of what's happening around me. The gf likes them as well because she doesn't have to hear me fragging people when she is trying to fall asleep.

The cord from headset to controller is really not that bad, I hardly notice that it's there. I've researched the whole "loose connection / static and echo" problem that some people complain about. The best resolution for this problem, 9 times out of 10, is to buy a new controller. More than likely those that are experiencing static and such have older controllers with a worn headset connection socket.

Headsets owned:
3 - stock MS headsets
1 - MS headset that comes with the messenger kit (this one is actually okay)
1 - Plantronics headset (broke within 30 mins of use - was brand new)
1 - Wireless H3 edition (have to talk really loud for teammates to hear me)
