Welcome to the community. If you've got your heart set on XGC, then I won't stop you, but if you're open to other ideas, SYN Lust 7 will take you! If interested, PM me or XBL msg me.

Ummm... Well... It's mainly a matter of opinion. I was in XGC for the beginning of my tenure here in XG... From my experience, XGC is much more established. It's much bigger than the other branches, and because of that, you're likely to network a little better in XGC.

SYN is significantly smaller, but I like SYN better because it fits my style better. What I mean is, you get promoted much faster in SYN. It's a smaller community, so it's easier to make a difference and make a name for yourself. You're allowed to defend yourself when people talk sh!t to you, unlike XGC.

There are many misconceptions about SYN that you will most likely hear that I have not found to be true.

1) all the sh!t talkers and immature ppl go to SYN. Not true.
2) SYN has a bunch of little kids. Not true.

I recommend SYN to people who are undecided, but many people come into XG with their eyes set on XGC. Which is understandable. It's bigger. It's more respectable. But the promotions take longer. And you can be hella active and you don't get much more recognition than the guy who never turns on his xbox. That's my opinion, but that's also what happened to me. I put in an application with the Design Team, Video Team, News Team, I was avg'ing 5 posts a day, I was trying to rally people to new ideas in the community and they were still like "well, you are a recruit for a week." then after a week, i'd get private.

After having private for 10 days, I'm thinking "ok, well, i'm hella active and I contribute to the community, maybe i can get sergeant a few days early." No. Had to wait the two weeks. Then I got Sgt. After waiting the required 3 weeks to get lieutenant, they were like "well... we're pending a split, so we can't promote anyone past sgt until after the split. it should be happening soon, tho." Needless to say, I'm in SYN, I went from SGT to CPT in the month and some change I've been there and that clan still hasn't split, so I would have still been a sergeant.

So my point is, if you like progression, give SYN Lust 7 a chance, because as a Captain, I reward members who contribute to the community. If you're active and like contributing and show signs of leadership, I will see to it myself that you move up the ranks with fluidity.

*closing note: I'm not saying that the XGC clan I was in was a bad clan, nor am I saying XGC is a bad choice. Many players are content to be in a bigger and more respectable community, even if that means moving up the ranks slower. I don't deny that. The clan I was in was an awesome clan that had decent communication, was very active and dominated on clan compete... it's just... my priorities were set in a slightly diff. direction than theirs were and I found a place that better suited my taste.

Shazbot let me clarify a bit more on galactus..
You get promoted here in my clan based upon how you contribute to the clan and community as a whole. We train you based on your position and never hang you out to dry. Thats the way we do things not everyone gets promoted fast nor do they get skipped over. Syn is the place for those who are a bit more trash talkerish lol on the box. XGC isn't supposed to do that but it happens with everyone from time to time so you wont have to worry about being shunned if you were to do that. All in all best of luck wherever you end up wanting to be :)
