V4 is the best in my opinion. The background isn't as bright as V3 so that brings your eyes to the focal more.

The fire/cloud stuff on the first 2 versions and the last black and white version doesn't look that great when it's all transparent like that. I think if you liked the fire idea, it would have been better if you'd made the fire the background, like he was being engulfed in a big wall of flame instead of some wimpy puff of smoke.

too much negative space in the top left, and map your focal to match the bg more if youre going for a more realistic look. also watch ur depth with your bg they have different distances from your focal so you need to blur the sections accord. since its so simplistic you need to do a great job on the fundamentals.
