I did the join a clan thing but do I just wait for a reply or what?

The leaders of the clan you sent a join request will receive a PM; Once they receive the PM, they should hit you up via the website or the box.

And you are correct, you cannot change your gamertag until you've reached the appropriate rank (Sergeant) and have given your tag request to your General and Section Leader for approval.

Pending you reach a certain rank, you would be allowed to change your gamertag to:

SYN ______
KoG ______
XGC ______
XGG ______

The letters at the end of gamertags indicate a higher rank in the community.

SECTION LEADER (XS)

The Section Leader position comes with many responsibilities, such as being directly responsible for running multiple successful clans. As a Section Leader you are a role model for all Generals in your section. By accepting the rank of Section Leader you are making a commitment to be a fair and responsible leader. This includes making yourself available several times a week to solve problems, hold meetings and hearing new ideas. Section Leaders work closely with their Generals to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner. Section Leaders will be responsible for ensuring that Generals turn their squad lists in on time and are meeting weekly with their clan. Section Leaders are also moderators on the website and are responsible for posting clan news, clan events, communicating with their clans via their forum and clan forums. Being moderators comes with a lot of responsibility. Section Leaders decide what is appropriate and inappropriate and need to remove and warn offenders when forum rules are broken. The Section Leader is also required to keep discipline within their clans and report any infractions directly to the Division/Community Leaders. Section Leaders are directly responsible for ensuring Generals fulfill all requirements listed in the Generals rank description. A Section Leader is eligible for a promotion after running and maintaining multiple large and successful squads that represent what XG stands for. Section Leaders must display sound judgment and decision making in all aspects of their online interaction. As always good communication is the key to success.

Section Leaders Responsibilities:
1. must be active on XBL and the forums on a regular basis
2. be available to hear new ideas, suggestions, comments and solve problems that arise within your section.
3. work closely with their Generals to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner and following the honorcode at all times.
4. Ensure that Generals post their squad list on time and finalize them by the 3rd and 17th of every month.
5. Approve XG gamer tags
6. Approve transfers within your section
7. Keep discipline within the squads and report any infractions directly to Division Leaders.
8. Be a moderator on the website which means deciding what is appropriate and inappropriate and giving warnings to offenders when the forum rules are broken.
9. Post clan news, clan events and communicating with their clans via their forum own forum areas as well as their clans forums.
10. Make sure Generals are fulfilling their responsibilities by evaluating them on a regular basis.
11. Move their tags I weekly to ensure all squads in their section are running smoothly.
12. Work closely with Division Leaders to promote XG in a positive way to all online gamers.

DIVISION LEADER (XD)

Division Leaders are responsible for specific Divisions (XGC, KoG, SYN, XGG). Division Leaders oversee and coordinate the Section Leaders. A Division Leader serves as a role model for all Section Leaders and the entire division. As a Division Leader you will be working closely with Community Leaders to make decisions that affect your Division as a whole. Division Leaders must work closely with the Section Leaders to oversee all activity within their Division, and to ensure that all members are playing in a professional manner that represents XG. Communication and decision making are the two most important qualities of a Division Leader. Often you will be pulled in many different directions so it is imperative that you exercise good judgment and patience. A Division Leader will deal with many stressful situations and must be fair but firm, and represent the best that XG has to offer. Division Leaders should keep an open line of communication with all the Section Leaders and hold weekly meetings to communicate direction. Division Leaders also have the ability to start new squads. Division Leaders are also Super Moderators on the website and are responsible for posting Division news, Division events and communicating with their Division via their forum. The Council of Leaders (XI)

The Council of Leaders is made up of the founding members of XGC. The Council works within a democratic structure voting on what is best for all of XGC. These ideals keep the community from being about one person’s quest.

Lolz.. the XG Liaison didn't last long.. and At this time does not exist.. I think there is only 3 members still around that hold the XL rank but they are really just Honorary Members at this point.. No point in going into it but it was an old rank structure within XG that has since changed.. all ya really have to know
