Wresting fans have been waiting for a new game since SVR became the same thing year after year. It's no surprise that as time goes on gamers expect more from a game. This game has delivered to the fans, and not in a small way. From the start screen to the match you can expect to be caught off guard with superior graphics and gameplay.
It's not easy to create a game capturing every little detail to the world of wrestling. Storyline, while not a huge expectation in gameplay. Is still necessary to build a foundation of why your punching in Kurt Angles face. Impact has created a storyline that keeps the fights coming, but at the same time leaves some room for the cut scenes. In the past, we have seen some pretty laughable graphics from past wrestling games. Impact brought us an exceptional improvement to graphics which makes those scenes in the locker room more enjoyable.
While graphics are important, without good gameplay it's like watching a cartoon. SVR has always kept true to giving us great move sets. Yet I always wondered how you grab Rey Mystrerio by the foot, but it looks like your grabbing his knee. Impact developers were way ahead of that problem and they improved it greatly. Developers actually got some real time investigating on how these superstars wrestle. Watching a wrestler move gave them alot of insight, which made a much better game for us. We get to see better grapples from our favorite wrestlers, and punches that make contact. Unfortunately with every up there is a down, the one area that could have been improved was the creator section. We all love the wrestlers legacy, but we all want to pave our own. So in order to do that we want control over every aspect of our wrestler. Well fans guess again, unlike the SVR creator, players are limited to what they can do. Let's not forget what it's really about though, We still get to put that big sweaty guy in the head lock and make him submit right!
So with all that said, isn't it time to go break that spending drought with a little wrestling?
