THE DEMO IS OUT!

I played it today, no where near as good as Starcraft or any Warcraft IMO.

It probably has something to do with RTS being played so much easier on the comp. The controls just feel unnatural to me.

It was great, I really liked it. The controls were very simple and building was easy to understand.

The cutscenes were fantastic and the action was great. I hate hearing people complain that it's Rated T.

Well, I played a lot today and I can say I'm unimpressed and I won't even buy this game.

The AI is terrible. Its like playing on the same difficulty on easy, normal, and heroic. I tried heroic skirmish and beat the comp in under 5 minutes each time, sometimes in around 2 minutes. Although that's usually how RTS goes, it seemed too generic. The computer really had no idea how to mass or send units to attack aside from sending a few units to a base at a time. Basically, it wasn't challenging in the least bit. Most of the time I could just mass marine off the bat and destroy the computer with ease.

The campaign wasn't fun or challenging. It was also kind of... generic. It pretty much explains what to do and how to do it completely. There is little to no challenge for each mission. The side objectives are usually boring and also easy to complete while simply rushing through campaign if you choose to do that. I tried to take my time and be tactical, but all that did was waste time as the computer in campaign was not that good.

The controls for this game are awkward. If you've played RTS such as WCIII or Starcraft or even AoE you will know what I'm talking about. The analog stick moves through the map slowly. The minimap is kind of useless, I didn't look at it once. They are easy to learn and probably better if you have never played RTS on computer, but most who are interested in RTS will probably buy this game and the controls will be quite foreign to them.

Good graphics, good cut scenes, good concept. Not much else can be said about that.

Personally, I'm not ever going to buy this game. It won't change too much from the demo and there is a lot that could have been done to improve it...

I downloaded this game the day it came out and unlike "Xx Mr Bill xX" I thought the game looked great. I thought that the graphics and cut scenes were superb. I found the controls very easy to learn and very effective to use. Thank you ReconNinjas for mentioning multiplayer as it will most likely be awesome. You dont even have to be a huge RTS fan to enjoy this game. I know that I am going to buy this game (already pre-ordered the limited edition) and I would suggest to everyone that they get the free demo off xbox live and make their own evaluation. You wont be disappointed.

lol nor will he ever since thats in the actual game that he wont be purchasing lol

I could make a smart response to this but since you have probably never played a good RTS before Halo Wars and if you have you didn't and are incapable of realizing it I will just say that Halo Wars will be another failure in the venture of RTS on console and at the most extreme best possible scenario will be mediocre.

I played Starcraft alot back in the day, and I was reserved when I first played the halo wars demo, to keep my expectations low. I Definitely think It will be worth buying. I also look forward to playing online in the game.

the demo sucks :(

Finally, someone with some sense

But really, I've gone back and played it multiple times building every unit upgrading everything giving every facet available of the game made available and there isn't enough to convince me to buy it and what is available isn't good compared to just about every RTS available on PC

I picked up the game. I wanted something different to mix in with the FPS, RPGs and Action/Adventure games. I was big fan of the Red Alert games and it plays like that. Far from being the best RTS it is still enjoyable.

Sorry about dragging out an old thread...but, it's like when Westwood attempted to get C&C popular on PS1. RTS' are made for PCs not for console!
