the new book by hough ambrose is out, The Pacific. and tonight the miniseries for it is starting, on HBO , directed by stephen spielberg and tom hanks. anyone but me excited?

dude, episode 2 is awsome. speaking of WWII, i just saw the movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and *spoiler* its horribly sad.... kinda ruined my day....

i have watched saving private ryan AND band of brothers 900 times (approximately)
each.
but yet, have never heard of The Pacific..
so i will be looking into this..

It's portrays 3 marines during the Pacific theater and it has battles like Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. It's just awesome.
