@ Sandman:
I HATE it when people do this. Ticket didn't do ANYTHING wrong, and when he was asked for more explanation he was very helpful in his criticism and suggestions. He certainly wasn't impolite.
If you don't want someone to bring constructive criticism to your work, don't post it in the gallery.
@ the sig:
The greyscale and blue versions don't have enough contrast to support the focal. Make the tattoos more visible, for one. There's too much on top of them, move your blending effects to the outer edges of the focal rather than across it.
You did better on this in the orange tinted version, but it could use some of the same work.
I don't mind the AMOUNT of text, but in this case it doesn't all need to be readable. I would do a bottom to top fadeout gradient over the text layer, so the lyrics fade into view. Really only the last two lines need to be plainly visible.
In the blue version, there's just too much whiteout, reduce the amount of light coming from the left side and the flash in the middle.
BORDERS, it amazes me how few people use them these days. Even if it's just a slight inner glow, giving the image a visible end keeps it from looking like it's been "cut off".
