I was Recruited into Xiled Gaming August 7, 2010. My old xbox had just gotten the Red Rings of Death (RRoD) and I had just purchased a new one. Up to this point I had never played on xbox live even though I had an xbox years before that date. So when I Realized I would get a free month for signing up, I automatically did it. I believe this was on August 5th. Two days later as I was playing I received a message from a member of KoG, who was at that time a General. I talked to him about joining and Immediately after went to the XG website to the read the Honor Code and Rank Structure. I was so ecstatic to see a place with fair rules, where you could meet new people and have fun. I immediately joined XG that same day and never looked back. I was recruited into a clan called KoG LiveoCom, as it was called then. At the time LiveoCom was at a total count of 4 Members, including myself. We had a General, a Captain, and one other Private. As school started we had a few new faces, a captain who transferred in who soon went inactive, and a Sergeant who transferred in. The sergeant came in and even though my Captain was opposed to him I constantley talked to him. He taught me a lot of my base knowledge of XG and through hardwork he eventually Received Captain in LiveoCom and made me his Lieutenant. This was in November-December of 2010. The squad was Called Immortal, because I was allowed to name it, and Immortal was my dream clan name if I ever became a General at the time. We had small beginnings but eventually got to 7-8 people in the squad. Now at this time it was around Christmas. One of my friends from school had just gotten an xbox at my urging and had gotten xbox live too. As soon as he had it set up, I immediately talked to him in a party. As we were talking The Other Captain in the clan (D for short.) joined the party. Now, D was always a bit of 'Bully' He enjoyed making fun of people and calling them names. And this time was no different. He immediately called me '***' and a '***' I believe it was because I didn't talk to him or play with him as much as I had when I was in his squad. At this point I just wanted to talk with my friend and not have to deal with the name calling I knew wouldn't end. So I asked my friend to kick him from the party. Little did I know that with this I planted the seeds of change in KoG LiveoCom. After my 'horrible' actions against D, there was immediate talk of my Demotion and then transfer to D's squad. At this time I'll go into more of what had been going on in LiveoCom as a whole. Out of the Original four members Only myself, and the General and D remained. The other private at the time had reached Sergeant before me and promptly went inactive. This left no one in D's squad. D was quite lazy and in any other clan under any other General he would have been demoted. But he was the General's friend and this allowed him to have no responsibilities, such as recruiting. The whole point of me going there as far as I could see was to rebuild the squad just for D. Luckily for me, my Captain was willing to stand on my behalf and attempt to fight the general's decisions. As far as I know this time period caused two things: A shouting match between my Cpt. and General. And a conversation between myself and my Section Leader KoG Poa Triv XS. This conversation is one that I have conflicted feelings about. I know Poa didn't really care about LiveoCom, but what I did still doesn't sit well with me. In the conversation I presented my side of the story and told Poa all about D and his squad. Even going directley to the Responsibility of Ranks in the Rank Structure and comparing them all to D. Needless to say I was a bit scathing. After this My Cpt. had his shouting match disrupted by KoG Spinz XD. I would use a pseudonym for you Spinz, but I can't think of one that is fitting. As far as I know what followed ended up with my Cpt. ending up as active General because D and the ex-General were not happy when Spinz confronted them. My new General was active for a while but not soon after real life began to eat into his time, until he eventually became fully inactive, to much of my regret. He was inactive for 1-2 months. Eventually I was able to reach my leaders and I became acting-General. Eventually my promotion became final on June 1st 2011. I was promoted "The Goat" XS and afterwards he left the party and didn't speak to me for a week. A bitter-Sweet taste of my first and only big promotion. After this I dedicated myself to my Clan which had been named to Olympus upon my promotion. I didn't like the name at first but I admit it grew on me. I served as a General for a year. My clan went up and down which I blame myself for. Many of the people I recruited and trained went inactive or didn't do their job as I would have liked and I always saw my failures in them. But while it was sad for me in that aspect. I did have fun. My fondest memories were the General's meetings on Sundays. I always made sure to go to the Halo: Reach metting every Sunday, just to play a game called 'Speed' or 'Nascar' with my fellow XG members. Eventually in my clan I was given a recruit from an XGC Private. This recruit eventually came to be one of my best friend's on xbox, and my best Protege. By the time the year turned to 2012 my Xs had been going on an inactive streak, and I felt quite isolated with my problems and without outside help or communication. I think this was one of the largest contributing factors to my leaving. Before this I had never though about leaving I had only been in XG and felt it would be my only, so much so that I had already done my General's classes even though I had no hope of being promoted until my clan split. About a year after my promotion I was approached by my XS about vN or Valiant Nation. He said I would be able to receive the same rank and that it would be a lasting community. I was torn between my loyalty to XG and to a leader who I trusted and had been taught by for a year up to this point. I looked, and I thought and I made my decision. I left. I tried my best to leave in good standing. And informed the KoG XD's. vN was a clan that could have been excellent but after a good start the leaders began to rely on poaching. I never supported this, or some of the other decisions that were made. But I worked hard and eventually split my clan. From this it took me awhile to actually look at vN but the leadership was inactive and those who weren't are some of the best and worst leaders I've known. Now here I am. When I left XG I told myself that I needed a change of pace, and that it would be good for me to experience something new. Was I right? I don't know. vN was a varied place and while I mostly made friends I saw enough Leadership mistakes that it has left a bad taste in my mouth. The worst being one of the "Forerunners" The rank equivalent of Council. He had a personal Vendetta against XG and wanted to poach it to the point of destruction, which he failed horribly at. Will I be allowed back? I hope. Do
I know what I will do here? I don't. I might attempt to go through the ranks. Or I might just go back to what a clan was for me originally: A place to make friends, have fun and game. I hope this wasn't too long but I was told to go into details. I hope you have fine day and make whatever decision you see best.
Sincerley,
Tidal
