WHAT WE MISS ABOUT HALO 2

The more and more I listen to people in games the more amazed I am that so many people still revere Halo 2. Myself included.

But what was it that made us all crazy about the game?

The dynamics of the matchmaking? Ranked, so possibly.

The awesome voice who hyped out you every awesome action? Heck Yea! "Killtacular!!"

The fact that we were all equals in appearance? I'm Spartian 117! No I am!! No.

The creative variety of the Vehicles in a FPS? I would think so!

The option of Red and Blue opponents appealed to the visually impaired? Probably not so many of you.

The maps? There Design? Playability? The fact that they tried to re-sell them to us several times thought the years successfully. Go Coagulation!! Woo-ah!

Perhaps the quality of the servers? Laughable.

I know! It couldn't possibly be anything other than people glitching, the hackers, the "standby-ing", the modders. If you just suffered Nightmarish flashbacks, you were clearly there!

Personally, I enjoyed the clans the most, Halo 2 was heavy into clan compete and there was 2v2, 4v4 and big team matches every week. It was like being part of a professional sports team. Having practices and training meets where we would hone tactics and become better players together by working together & I personally thought the maps were wicked! Lockout, Breakneck, Coag, Ascension. Classics.

How about you?

Pretty much every genuinely good player back on H2 would force host. At higher levels it was the only way to ensure that you got an even game, i.e so you games you play in wouldn't get standby'd. Low levels it was non existent.

The only times I ever really played H2 was around at a mates house. Best console FPS by far though.

It also took more skill to play halo back then than it was in halo 3 and Reach... don't know why. Plus we all preferred the organic feel of the maps, as opposed to the new industrialized one

That is a very good point! Where have all the swamps and growth covered ruins gone? There must be way less effort put into making unique surroundings that seem like other worlds. Traded away for rooms & ramps. :D

I do miss H2. The clans were the BEST and more organized!! I remember being steel for a week when being recruited and listening about the honor code for over 15 min. lol Or being pink when promoted haha Damn it sure isn't the same anymore. I never really got into the other halo games, granted i played every halo game that came out but it just wasn't the same. I switched to CoD which also use to be good (CoD 4) don't care for the others and played all of those as well. Now i'm hooked to Skyrim and my friends can't get me to play any other game bcuz to me..they're all crap lol I must say i am looking forward to Halo 4 and i don't want to be disappointed again >_>
