I felt like talking about something that has been on my mind and my heart for quite some time now, and I hope that by the end of this, you all might have better insight to me, and who I really am.
So who am I?
I am Ashley Hays.
I'm 20 years old, from Midwest City, Oklahoma. I take care of my father and go to school full time and hold a part-time job. I try to live my life by faith as much as I can, and will not hesitate to break out into song if the moment presents itself. I love watching the history channel, and I enjoy reading. I'm just a person, who enjoys the simplicities of life.
However, I feel that some of you may have a misconception about who I am, and I really don't know how I feel about that.
To a clan devoted to keeping the peace, and attempting to provide for a 'drama-free' environment, there are those of you who surprise me, extremely so. Hypocricy at its finest, I think.
A misconception happens when a person believes in a concept that is objectively false. If you have never met me, spoken to me, or been in contact with me, then you do not know me, and you forfeit any and all opinions about me. It is unfair to judge someone whom you do not know, especially if you have made no attempts to know.
Everyone has some kind of misconception. This postulates to "No one has perfect knowledge" and "no one has a perfect mental representation of the world." You do not know everything just because you think you do. And you do not know me, just because your friends tell you something bad about me.
I feel like some of you may have a problem. Maybe you don't want to let go of the misconceptions because the false concepts may be deeply ingrained in you. Maybe you don't like to be proven wrong and will continue to cling to these misconceptions even in the face of evidence to the contrary.
Whatever the reason, please know this.
I am a person, with feelings.
I bleed just like you.
And I want to ask you this:
How would you feel if you were in my position?
How would you feel if someone you loved were in my position?
Everyone makes mistakes, but we are not to be defined by those errors made in our pasts.
We should rather, be continuously defined by our present.
And if I have ever hurt you or offended you in any way, please, accept my sincerest apologies.
It was never, and is never my intention to do such.
And if you care to get to know me now, please add me on xbox.
Let me show you who I really am.
Thank you for reading.
