Xbox 720
The latest tech reports on Microsoft’s next console – tentatively named the Xbox 720 or Xbox Loop – state the chipset has already been in production and game developers are working hard on new titles. The machine should be on shelves in time for Christmas, 2013.
Rumors that the new Xbox will simply be an update to the existing 360 are bunk, same to the theory that it will run on Windows. What is likely is that the system will launch at a cheaper price point than the 360. This could mean a new Microsoft console for under $300. You can bet the new console will be smaller than its predecessor and that Microsoft will continue to push the Kinect peripheral. Despite the company’s interest in casual and motion-based games, expect the next Xbox to continue Microsoft’s appeal to hardcore gamers.

i need it to be backwards compatible or i am gonna have a tantrum. Seriously though, If they want us to be day 1 buyers they must do this.

Seriously! I'm sure it'll be backwards compatible with all the old 360 games, perhaps even Xbox games.

That would kill off a HUGE portion of their potential buyers

Yea that backwards compatibility thing is a must. Was a bit annoyed when most of my 360 games didn't play on my 360, same goes for the new playstations. It's just something that needs to be done. Better internal fans and such wouldnt hurt. red rings/dots are also a bit annoying lol

The only thing I care about is my profile seamlessly making it to the new console (incl. gamerscore etc). I have a feeling that will be a top priority with MS but if not I'll be so angry.

I just sure hope that the Xbox will have reverse compatibility as many others have stressed, and that it has a great price... Xbox's have been so overpriced since they've been coming out... But all in all it should be another great piece.
