I can say you have nice placement of your focal.
Blending -- It's a little over done in some areas like the tail and head. I honestly like the smudge coming from his eye on the right side bu the one of the left is very distracting. I would almost try to make it wispy like the one on the right.
Depth -- I would suggest blurring the effects on the top left just a tiny bit. It will help immensely keep your focus on the character.
Color -- Not bad. I would honestly suggest adding in a couple other colors though to spice it up. Go with the orange/red in his eyes and blend in some oranges & yellows here and there. Nothing crazy, just enough to help tie in his eyes and keep it from being mostly one color.
