"Scrum Deconstructed: Workshop for Game Industry Management" Hosted by GameRecruiter
Saturday, 1pm - 4pm
Game industry career consultant and team management expert Marc Mencher hosts an executive workshop on Agile project management in game development, with specific focus on Scrum implementation, which is one of the most commonly accepted of the Agile methods in the games industry. Scrum software development is a production methodology which focuses on an iterative and incremental approach to the creation of games and software development. Scrum emphasizes close collaboration between various teams and the management, with face-to-face communication (as more efficient than written documentation) and tight, self-organizing teams.
For those studio managers not yet applying Scrum methods to the game development process, there are common misunderstandings of these methodologies. With the aid of skilled industry experts working with these methodologies, Mencher will assist in 'deconstructing' Scrum methodologies in game development that increase overall efficiency, communication and product delivery for game studios. The workshop will provide an overview of Scrum methodology and the process for implementation into the development team. Attendees will discover techniques to implement Scrum methodology as well as how to transition their staff to incorporate these methods.
Plus more content to be announced.
