Xbox One vs. PS4 Which Console is better

Xbox and PlayStation are constantly taking the way we game to the next level. But which console is overall better, both offer a wide wealth of features between entertainment, sharing capabilities, and backwards compatibility. Xbox One and PS4 were put thru a seven round brawl to determine which console is truly the strongest system.

Game Library:
As of fall of 2015, Xbox One has a bigger emphasis on first-party exclusives with some big titles. PS4 has a few big first- party games but Sony has mainly focused on pushing the third-party titles that also have PlayStation exclusive content. Xbox One has one major ace in the whole the backwards compatibility. These allowing Xbox One users to enjoy over 100 Xbox 360 games on their Xbox One that is currently playable on the console. PlayStation is working on making PlayStation 2 games playable on the PS4 but the features are currently scarce. Now PS4 users do have the option to play older games on the PS4 if they pay for PlayStation Now, this will allow you to stream a small library of PS3 games.

WINNER: Xbox One 25 points

Hardware:
Xbox One – The Xbox One consoles starts with a 500GB storage which fills fast when downloading games. The Xbox One has the advantage with a simply plug in any USB 3.0 external hard drive for more space. Now the Xbox One controller is lighter than the 360 controller and also offers the Elite Wireless Controller for $150. The Xbox One is harder to transport due to it weighing in at 7 lbs and measuring at 13 inches wide. The Xbox One does support the interactive webcam but differ in functionality. Microsoft’s Kinect has voice commands and play gestures based on games and when streaming twitch allows you to show your face at the wonderful price of $150.
PS4 – The PS4 is the winner in the looks dept. for it is weighing in at 6.1 lbs and measuring at 11 inches wide. Now the PS4 is the same as the Xbox One with the 500GB storage just doesn’t have the USB simply plug for more storage, you would have to open your console and swap for a new SATA drive. The PS4’s controller has more special features along with the light bar on top that changes colors based on your battery level. The PS4 DualShock controllers have a micro USB charging right out of the box but you will need the $25 dollar charging kit for your controller. As for support interactive webcam for the PS4 it is more affordable at $60 and has more robust voice commands with a larger library of motion based games.

WINNER: PS4 10 points

Performance and Graphics:
So both of these wonderful machines have a 8 core x86 64 AMD jaguar processor with 8GB of RAM, an AMD Radeon GPU and a 500 GB hard drive. Now the PS4 has the edge on the terms of resolution. Most of your favorite games run in full 1080p on the PS4 as for Xbox One gamers have to settle for 900p on most titles. So when it comes to gamers the difference between 1080p and 900p is what matters.

WINNER: PS4 15 points

Interface and Streaming:
The Xbox One’s Interface brings a completely revamped windows 10 powered to look and feel to Microsoft’s console. With the Xbox One you can snap apps to the right of you screen while you game. The PS4 interface is still king when it comes to gameplay and sharing with friends. This allows you to quick tap of the DualShock’s and you can record a clip, broadcast, and take a screenshot. Both systems allow sharing their broadcast and screenshots but its PS4 that lets you share to Facebook as Xbox One allows you to share to Twitter.

WINNER: PS4 5 points

Entertainment:
In the entertainment world Xbox One is the superior machine with allowing you to transmit your cable TV signal thru your Xbox. The Xbox One Kinect will allow you to use voice commands to flip through your favorite TV channels. Both systems have the popular streaming services that we all love. But it’s the PS4 that offers the most popular music service out there as for Xbox One has Pandora and its own Groove Music.

WINNER: Xbox One 15 points

Online Experience:
For both systems require you to pay to have a membership to play online on multiplayer mode Xbox One live Gold $60 yearly and Sony PlayStation Plus $50 yearly. Both systems offer 2 free games to the online gamers a month to download and enjoy. Both services offer frequent discounts on digital games. But with Xbox One has a more online stability as for PlayStation Network suffers some pretty infamous outages.

WINNER: Draw 15 points

Value:
So even know we wish the prices wasn’t so high both systems to range in the same price range $349. Now both systems to offer a range of bundles that would offer more for a better price. So with both consoles in the same price range it’s all about finding the better deal for your buck.

WINNER: Draw 15 points

So the bottom line is both are great consoles and both and can amazing things. We sure have grown from when I had my first Nintendo. But we do have our winner as it would be the Xbox One.
