Ruined Xbox

Hi this is KoG Apostle, I just wanted to say xbox was amazing for me when i first got it, i had a lot of fun with regular people i met and it was njoyable, then i joined xiledgaming n things went down for me. Instead of playing a Couple hours a day i got addicted and was told by "Leaders" to stay on and help the community so i could rank up n b one of them... My family was mad because i constantly played xbox, i didnt hav friends n e more, in a way that sounds completly sad but is definetly TRUE. i didnt realize i ddnt hav friends n e more cuz ppl on xbox was all i needed (i thought). Then i needed to move from my grnpas to my moms so i could help her because she's terminally ill. So i did n even thn i let my xbox "family" talk me into doin stuff that i woodnt normally do, like stay up til 4 in the morning every nite to make sure i rank up which is what they tell generals to become section leaders. They convince u tht if u dnt move up in ranks ur nothing in life which is kinda true cuz u already only got friends on Xbox so u need to rank up to make thm happy. Wen i strted realizing i was ****ing up in real life, i set all my future goals aside for XG and thn realized one day, WTF am i doing? so i strtd hanging wth new friends n started havin fun instead of babysitting 10 year olds on my xbox. Long story short XG will take-apart your life, waste ur time, and ruin your xbox experience... Thank You for reading n please be respectful to my experience with XG. I live in a country owhere i got the freedom of speech, if u think XG is for u thn join but it cannot be for everyone becuz ive met a lot of kids/teenagers/adults who live and breath XG. Thank you for reading i enjoyed telling you my story of Y i joined XG

P.S. I joined to have fun

KOG Apostle, wow what a load of crap. I joined to have fun? Really? Then why did you worry about ranking up? I have been a General in XGC for nearly 2 years. I havent worried about ranking up, if it happens it happens, we are all gamers. If you didnt like it then why didnt you just quit. How about saving your belly aching for some other clan or website and get the F*ck off of our website.

I think you got too extreme though. I have heard this happening to people in gaming clans before too dude. You just have to learn to have a balance between gaming, and the things that are most important to you. Like, family, school, etc. come first; for most of us. Like I said, there has to be a balance between the two.

Let me just say i did say its for some people, oh and thanks for being disrespectful for those who were, theres an Honor Code, i followed it for 10 months so watch ur mouth cuz u think ur hard on XBL or a Computer, and to u guys who commented my ranking up, i was told to rank up, wen u get into a state of XBL friend are u only thn u dont wana lose those guys as friends to so u do wut they ask and since XG is a type of cyber dictatorship cuz rember how many ppl actually follow the honorcode, the only people who enforce stuff are generals n up. but yea i was told to rank up by my "leaders" please dont critisize me on stuff i probly hav more experience as a leader in this gaming communties thn some of u (IT WAS MY LIFE,LIFE FOR 9 LONG MONTHS) i poste dtht respectfully not constricted by an honor code, u guys disrespect me while constricted by an honor code.

Wow. There is no obligation to ever rank up. Ever. It is a personal choice. If your did what your "friends" asked and worked hard to try and rank up because you didn't want to "lose" them, you need to go back and work on the definition of what a friend truly is 'cuz dat dere ain't one. I don't know how true your story is, but if you got caught up in the whole "I need to earn a title so I can haz respect" whirlwind no wonder you didn't have fun. That is certainly not what XG is about, and that is quite far from the experience I've had as a part of this community. Good luck, hopefully you can regain the balance you once had in your life.

Perhaps you are not made out for clan life if your rank is what defines you. What would happen if you reached the highest rank possible, and then had nothing left to do? You'd probably be saying the same thing as you are now. After years of being a 'lone ranger' on xbox live, joining XG has pretty much fulfilled a gap that was missing from my xbox experience.
Yes, it has consumed a small part of me, but i will not let it get between me and real life. Right now im in the school holidays and have very little to do, so i visit here daily and make myself known. I have never had the aspect of rank pushed on me, and i have never asked for a promotion. Although i do aim to become a general etc. i will make the process as painless and as fun as possible. Im not going to try and rush through the ranks.
I think this is where i think you went wrong. I will do whatever i can for the clan, but not to gain rank. Im sure most here could sit at a low rank and still enjoy themselves.
If i do ever leave XG, it will not be from dissatisfaction, but rather me stepping down for personal reasons.
You obviously took the wrong experience and message away from XG. And yes, leaders will tell you about rank etc, but it is a reward and not something you have to dedicate yourself to. It is an incentive to be active and help others within your community. Also, rank is never about making others happy, but rather making yourself happy.

perhaps so but the kid did bring up some good points and facts. Some people allow gaming communties to take a big priority in their life sadly and in some cases I have seen situations where it almost felt like an obligation or simply that someone felt pressured to rank up because there was no one else to do the "job" which is naturally a case of bad judgement and leadership in the XS or whomevers position but none the less a gaming community will be what you make of it. XG is not for everyone, and thats a fact. You just have to have fun and if a gaming community is part of that fun then so be it
