And for a shadow, duplicate, color bottom to black, gaussian blur at a rate of 2-3, drop opacity and merge
I think i know how. Just take a render, like al tribal piece, add a colored background. Alpha out the center. Do whatever color/c4d work to do, merge down, alpha the background, and you're left with an image with the desired effects and a transparent backgroun.
i think i've gotten a little bit better since then...
