  • Once you get the basics, then you need to figure out timing. How long should the lightning strike? How fast should the fog move across the screen? The normal fps is /100ms.
That's very fast. If you need to slow it down, make a duplicate of each layer, that means that certain image will be seen for 200ms. The more "PowerPoint slides" you have, the smoother you can make it because the variations in change are smaller, aka it seems less jerky. It takes more time, but the smaller the change between images, the more it flows.
The bas to animation is to make your base layer. Take for example that banner. The base image is the two angels of death with the text. To understand a gif, you gotta know this simple logic. All it is is an image that replaces an image that replaces an image, ect. To add for example of the lightning bolt, you take your base image, make a copy if it. Find a pcture of a lightning bolt with an alpha background, and copy it so you now 2 of each. Set two aside. To make the lightning flash, I simply took a base copy, lined up.a bolt, then dropped its opacity to about 20%. Merge it down. Make another copy of your clean base and bolt, knock the bolt down to 40%, then 60%, then 100%, then 60%, 40%, 20%, gone. You'll end up with like 6 images of a bolt starting out light and getting brighter then fading. Go to filter, drop down to animation, then playback. Click play.

See is that helped. Just play around with it
Hr asked for animation lol. Another problem I seem to run into is the lingo. I understood maybe the obvious parts....
It's a base image with no background, 2 fractals at a moded merge, graindiant spikes added, and a sand dune brush to add texture. Not to mention the mw wave.
Snow, you said.i.should work on base images with more fx, how is this....? Honest cnc
I meant disrespect to you or ACE.....I meant the picture itself was lame and not the designer or his ability in any way. I hope we are cool......From now on not to step on any toes I will work on my own......
