I know the app area can be frustrating...
If you haven't, go take a look at my old application, its in the Freelancer area. Took me about 3 months to make it. I think there are 7 pages in that app.
It gets hard, you feel like you hit that brick wall. But don't give in. Every image you make is getting better. Google tutorials, watch YouTube videos of basic tag making. Just play around with your program. You can do it.

Well for int download some from dafont.com, but if you ever run into a font call bleeding cowboys please don't use it lol, it has been done to death. One font I will recommend is bankgothic md bt, if you can't find it on dafont go ahead and google it. For the 3d look, I'm not sure what to do I'm GIMP but in photoshop you can add a drop shadow to the text so it looks like its popping of the sig. I'll try and learn GIMP so I can help you out.
I'm still not sure which exact sigs you're talking about. the only ironman ones I've madw were my in my application, and I've made many atreyu related ones. The only thing that comes to mind is making a duplicate of the layer, go to filters, noise, pick, set all the dials to the right and click okay then put that behind the original
