Marvel sold the property rights to FOX for Spider-man and the Fantastic 4 before Disney bought them. So before Marvel had the ability to make a quality film within their own studios. They did that because of their financial state. DC hasn't ever had that problem. Other than the decline of comic sales. Which they could always combat with TPB sales. Batman is one of those money making titles that never really goes out of style. Marvel was pissed about FF though. They even revoked the licensing rights of the franchise. That's why you won't see anything in stores with the release of the film. Action figures, lunch boxes, or anything like that.
