I don't use the BR much with the AR I love that gun. Question, does the armor you were affect how much health you have and such?

The BR is Halo 2 was awesome but the Halo 3 BR is my new favorite weapon. I love using a BR against someone with an Assault Rifle because they get slaughtered every time and cuss at you in the Post-Game screen. So yeah, whatever you're smoking, give me some.

I find the BR a great weapon. It is great when you get stuck in bad situations. A couple well place shots to the head, as well as a couple grenades or so could get you out of a firefight when you are greatly outnumbered.

I go to sleep with a BR! If you don't use it then your k/d ratio probably sucks! I easily have the most headshots every game due to it!!

The BR in Halo 3 is much less accurate than it was in H2. The "spread" or where the bullets go is now randomly anywhere that your reticule (aimer) encompasses. In halo 2 all the bullets came out near the very center of the reticule. Since in halo 3 the BR spread is random that means that randomly some of your bullets will not register on a person even though you do actually hit them.
It makes it so that it takes a little bit more luck then skill to kill people at long ranges. You could get a totally random spread to the very edge of the reticule even though the center was behind the person and get a kill which is basically just luck.
Basically, I like the H2 BR better but the H3 one is not that bad.

If you ask me the BR should never lose to an assault rifle unless they're at close range. even then it shouldnt. the Br is beastly
I personally think the AR can beat the BR in close range if you strafe and dodge not just run forward

The AR can beat the BR and always should within a certain range without strafing. Its way easier to aim the AR. But the BR mid-semilong range is by far much better. Although it is still a good close up weapon. The carbine is better though except in long range.

True, but you can get those 9 shots off faster than the BR can shoot off 4.
It takes 9 carbine bullets vs 12 br bullets and the carbine shoots faster. In theory the carbine should always win, but its less accurate at long range.
I agree with you Bill on the rate of fire and if you line the two up against eachother on lan the carbine wins but in actual gameplay the odds for most individuals hitting all nine shots in succession is likely lower than that of a four shot for the br. Im just glad that the carbine is a solid option to the br when encountering ar start games.
