Naw man, this is a mute point.... I like Halo 3 and all but although it may have presidence over CoD4, for many reasons I believe that Halo 3 falls short from the mark.

First of all, Bungie sucks and have fallen from glory lately with terrible lag/load-time(s) online. Voice communication in lobbies of all types have of late been clunky and hard to deal with.

Voice communication is a must for all of XG and recently, here in XGC, we've had a clan spit. This means that we will need to recruit like crazy to keep ranks. Lob. com. is a necessity and Halo 3 has been a bit of a disapointment of late.

Also, Halo 3 servers allow 16 players per party, the same can be said about CoD4. Granted we are all much more familiar with what services that Bungie and halo provide, I am already hooked on the interactivity of the CoD4 lobbies.

CoD4 = Better than Halo 3....

I think COD 4 is better, but I would like to have vehicles in the next set of maps. Why can't someone be able to get in a tank, Hummer, etc??

Going from COD4 to Halo 3 is like night and day. Halo is slower, the weapons cannot be upgraded, etc. There is one thing that Halo is better at is the matchmaking. It is tough playing your first game and going up against someone that has prestiged twice.

I think that OVERALL Halo 3 is better than CoD4.

Pre-Game Lobby
Halo 3 has a better pre-game lobby system over all where you can make it open, invite only, limit numbers of people, etc. You don't really need more then 16 players because once you get more then 10 everyone is yelling over one another and you can't hear anything.

CoD4 is weird, you always have to get invited to join peoples party even when it says you are able to join and you have no real control in there and its hard to figure out at first.

Matchmaking
Admittedly CoD4 has a better matchmaking system. The only thing I don't like about it is that you can get kicked out in between games when someone with a near numeric rank of you quits out no matter how many times they have gone through prestige and you are just starting. It doesn't really match up by skill it seems to me as one team almost always dominates the other.

On H3 you can be a rank whore and it actually means something when you get the highest level. You can get to the highest level in the final prestige by playing a lot. You can play all you want in H3 but unless you get better at that gametype then you won't rank up. The problem with H3 matchmaking is bungie. They took out Hardcore and Team Snipers which were popular playlists in H2 and when they put Hardcore back in the screwed it all up. Also they finally put ranked btb in, I don't know why they ever took it out.

Custom Games
This is where H3 is infinitely better then CoD4. You have SO many more game types just to start off with and there are just as many things that you can edit in the lobby as you can in CoD4 if not more. Forge you can basically make almost any type of game that you want considering you can defy physics by doing certain things or change physics in the game to fit your needs as you go.

CoD4 is relatively limited and even when you try to change things up in customs people leave because they would rather play the better matchmaking games.

Campaign
I thought both campaigns were good but I personally like H3's better because I thought it was harder and more interesting. I lost interest in CoD4s pretty fast.

Halo 3 has theater
Halo 3 has forge

Both of those are huge things which CoD4 lacks and what puts H3 ahead of CoD4 IMO. Even if you don't use either you can't deny that the things you can do in both of those features are amazing.

This has nothing to do with Bungie. It's your connection and Bungie has no control over that.
Voice communication in lobbies of all types have of late been clunky and hard to deal with.
Again, this has nothing to do with Bungie. It is either your mic that is messed up or the person you're communicating with is the one having problems.

I really couldn't agree more dude... another thing that pisses me off is the massive amount of glitches in halo 3. I can't over-exaggerate how frustrating it is when you assassinate someone... only to drop dead where you stand... Halo 3 was good but it has really gone hill with Bungies updates coughteamcontrolcough...

You know it is easier to say that it is your opinion that you think Halo 3 is better. I find COD 4 better than Halo. But that is my opinion. It is easier to admit that as an opinion then to argue at the dude on why the other game is better.

wasn't intending to sound like i was bashing one particular thing about halo 3, I just find that in such a case I am rather opinionated and that it can sometimes get in the way.

...it is easier to say that it is your opinion...

When I was doating on Bungie I was refering to - and maybe I sould have further elaborated - to the not so stellar updates when compared to those of Infinity Ward.....

.:ex:.
If Host of lobby leaves, all players will be deposited back to the lobby where next best host will be selected before new game restarts. Players will no longer be kicked out of game entirely.
Improved Network Performance For Larger Games

18 player games now require more bandwidth to host, resulting in smoother performance for players.
Optimized Server Selection for First Match.

Hopefully Bungie will take a long hard look at what Infinity Ward is doing and intergrate some system to have a "like" functionale to better not only gameplay but the experience held when in a post/pregame lobby....

I think its safe to say. Call of Duty is better than Halo 3 for certain reasons, and Halo is better than Call of Duty for certain reasons... Just buy both, perfect both, and then like me you will have nothing to argue... cause it really won't matter anymore...lol..j/k.

Its all about taste for the moment.

The taste for Halo ran out for me. COD 4 is something new. Halo 3 just expanded on what Halo 2 had done. And Halo 2 was a good 2/3 years of online playing so when Halo 3 arrived, it was nothing but a couple of new maps and weapons. It is still a great game, it's just that COD 4 is so much more fun to play.

Along with new weapons and maps, Bungie revamped the graphics engine to run at and perform at higher resolutions. I do agree with Docta-Gonzo in that you should buy both. But unlike Gonzo, I believe that buying both is the ONLY way to honestly voice your opinion in weather you believe one is as good or less good in comparison.

I absolutely loved Halo 2. The hurtles that were cleared in the playing and making of Halo 2; When juxtaposed, Halo 2 and Halo: Combat Evolved (Halo 1), the gap was so damn enormous that once Halo 3 came out, it was slightly overshadowed by all the hype of what could be.

BoonDock11 made a great point in bringing that to light and I do agree that that may be the cause to why CoD4 may be stealing the hearts of Halo enthusiasts....

.: on a side note, I hate how the Halo 3 SpnKr rockets can't lock on to a target in Online Matchmaking as they did in Halo 2 :.

I liked how you could have someone jump on a cannon or something and target them with a rocket and pulloff as you fire and make the missile orbit the fatty on the turret or whatever....

You can get about 9 i think before they start to destroy each other.

Halo 3 got boring fast, because of a lousy campaign and no change from halo 2, in my opinion halo 2 was better for online play, but COD4 takes the online battle since its pretty much perfect except for some aiming system flaws

as far as online play goes i am not convinced either is better, but when it comes to online functionality i has to go to Halo 3, for the simple facts that muting people is so much better and faster in halo3 plus u can look at ur friends list a whole lot quicker

I hate to be an ***, but bungie never needed to put any of those things into an update. Even in halo 2, no one got booted out of the party when the host left unless they also had a ****ty connection or could not connect to the host, but then they would have that problem in any game. So in that case that was an oversight by infinity ward.

Host is all about how fast you can upload information. It has jack to do with download speed which is what most people have a lot of. If you have a very fast download and an average upload you can get host a lot of times and still have a crappy host because your upload is average. Every game has host problems that you will ever play, most likely it will be this way for a long time.

Halo 3, yeah you get screwed out of assassination, but at least they actually do damage. When I go up and knife someone who is camping in prone in the back like 1/2 the time I miss no matter where I am or how close I am. You basically have to either get lucky or be not be moving in order to get a reliable melee kill on CoD4, thats my main problem with that game as far as actual problems with the game goes.
