HALO 3/BUNGIE.NET/CLAN LIST

XGC does not require a clan list in games in order for it to survive and strive. It is on alot of other games that do not have clan list. It is up to the members of XGC to keep it going IF they do remove clan list. If a clan list is not in Halo 3 XGC will NOT die out. It will still be around and growing. Everyone please remember the clan list does NOT make the clan. We make the clan (list).

He is right guys, though not having a list will hurt slightly due to unorginization and well when you have a clan list i think that is what essentially makes your squad as one,but i believe their will be a list so im going to stop worrying, and well if their isnt, theres always H2

that maybe true, but whats the easiest way to see who in the clan is online without those members taking up all the space on your freinds list? that would be using the clan list. Persides why are bungie considering taking out the clan list anyway? what is wrong with it?

I think its just that there is no limit to how many clans you can make or whatever so almost everyone has there own little clan with like 3 people in it

Well if people want to make a clan that is only for themselves, or for like three friends, I think that is their choice. A lot of people like to just play together and since they always just play with each other on the game rather than anyone else, they want to be able to make a clan just so that they look more professional/organized.

I've already voted that they should keep the clan list for Halo 3, because it would be hard to keep things organized without it. Not saying that we wouldn't be able to do it, just saying that it would be a lot more organized with it. You'd be able to know who your general is, for those of you who do not have him on your friends list... it's just that the general does not have enough room to put everybody on their lists, because they have to keep section leaders, division leaders, council, and even other generals incase they have to talk to them.

The clan list allows you to save room on your friends list for people that are not in the clan, and people that are possibilities of joining. We shouldn't have to make multiple accounts just to hold friends on them.

So I hope that they do expand the list, or at least keep it the same at 100. Another possibility if they don't want people making clans that will only house 3 people or so is to make a group that can hold up to 8 or even 10. This would be a group of people that you usually always play with. I know that WoW does this, except they call them "Arena Groups" but the only problem with that is that I believe once you're in them, you can't enter a game with anyone else from another group. They'd definitely have to change it so that you can still enter games with other people rather then just your group, but that's a possibility for them if they want to take the time.

WEll i was jsut told by my general that the clan list are staying now i just need to figure out if that was said to make sure i dont stay up worrying about it, and i agree that without a clan list my friends list would be full of people in my squad and not others in other squads

yeah clans would make sense, but I wouldn't put it past Bungie to take them out. They took out BTB Slayer which I thought was the most played game

lol I hated BTB Slayer. I only did that when I had a full party, and we didn't feel like doing a custom game... or if we had too many to make a full room of SWAT, at least. I don't think they'll take out the clan lists, though, if it has already been announced that they are going to keep the list. If they take it out, they'll probably lose a lot of people. Any news on them making the number larger that clans can hold? Because if they do that, then I am wondering how we're going to go about with making our XGC clans over there? Are we going to like combine two clans, or just have them start with recruiting for the full limit, or close enough before a split? Or would the split still be at about 100? Or what? Sorry, I'm just kind of wondering about all this stuff if it does happen.

I didn't really like the ranks of the clans. I didn't mind doing them, but they should be just fun... no guests, but not ranked. If you want to play a clan match for bragging rights, then it should just be tallied or something, similar to Clan Compete.

I do think that what they should do with the clan list is give the overlord an option on making new clan ranks, though... like how we have peon, member, staff, and overlord, I think that there should be more. You should be able to create your own, and choose all the options that the positions would get... that's just my suggestion because that's what WoW guilds did. The guild leader got to create new ranks, but only a certain number of them. The reason that I think this would be a good idea is it would give people a chance to do more when they're sergeant, or more when they're lieutenant. Because there are some people that keep complaining thinking that they should get the option to do what captains and generals, or higher do. And I'll agree that Captains and above should be the only ones limited to that stuff, but I do think that if there was a way to give them more ranks, and more options, then it would seem a lot more fair.

Although things have been working great how they are right now.
