it is ok about the practices and such, i will be fine learning stuff with a small group or in solitary if i cant make the meetings and practices. if this is a problem, then i will do my best to make the time.

i am not saying that we will change from GameBattles, i am saying we all sign up on GB, form the team and have matches and eventually we may form a 2v2 team/ teams, and will have both ladders of Halo3 NA covered by the Elites. Also Bear i am not sure about tryouts, but just have them post and i will see if we can have tryouts set up for WED or Tonight/ SAT if they are available.

Part of the problem with that is that the person teaching strategies has to explain it over and over if we are teaching them individually or in small groups and it just gets to be a pain.

I would gladly learn the strats for 2nd and 3rd, and that way i would be able to take them whenever they are on i could teach them. I have no problem teaching the others and any new members.

Well, if you just get into some games, download file shares from people better than yourself, and ask questions besides your team practice, you should be able to pick up everything you need without somebody specifically taking the time to walk you through things.

It's normally better to develop yourself, rather than be straight told what to do~ 4 people who try to do the same thing on a map will likely get dominated for example.

...and i already typed all that, so i dun wanna delete it >_< But am i out of line replying to a question here with my own opinion?

No its cool i do learn a lot from playing with better people and such but, me learning basic strats helped me quite a bit and i have improved, so i think learning improved strats would be even better and i could put them to work and then improve even more.

"strats" as you are likely used to in halo 2, have yet to be tried and tested. Everybody is still experimenting with that in halo 3, so there aren't any strats to be taught. Right now everybody is in very similar boats strategically.

Strats can be developed, and it wouldnt be that hard, it would just take a team to set up right and place themselves where they play good, and there could very well be some strats in motion.

Lolerz; how long were you playing halo 2? The original lockout strat for any gametype was focused on sniper, then BR became ideal, and Final Boss broke the mold by taking ball games into green room. You can talk strategies all you want, i'm just saying there aren't any standard strategies yet for halo 3.

2 1/2 years and nearing 13,000 games if I remember correctly.

Thats why you get started on your own and figuring out what works. Of course they get changed and tweaked over time unlike the H2 set ups which every team had almost exactly the same one. I figured it would be better to take things into our own hands and do something other people aren't suspecting rather then wait for someone to figure out what we might have already been able to know.

If you really understand how to make strats yourself then there's no reason to wait. Alot of people like to just copy what they see pros doing, and that's fine. Unfortunately, since we have a long off-season before the first H3 event those people are pretty much out of luck. That's part of why I like to make my own strats. I can tailor them to my team's skill level and preferences and, well, they just seem to catch alot of people off-guard. The other team might know how to rush against the generic popular setup but be totally lost against mine. Little things like that are really helpful. Near the end of the '07 season my team ran some scrims against Perfect Storm (the one with Soviet, not Naded/Legit) and I think that the fact that we had some really solid strats that were different than most of what they'd seen before really helped us. That being said, it's important not to go outside of what you can do. Don't try to make strats that your team won't be able to execute in-game against good teams. I saw alot of that in the old H2 elites and it really didn't work well.

There are some great strategies on High Ground like if you respawn near the sniper you have access easily to that and the overshield as we as you can have one guy take a mad dash towards the rockets and if you get the rockets, its pretty much not a hassle to hold on to the beach area.

Well put.

Although to be fair with the H2 elites it was not the skill level of the players, it was who was teaching the strategy and the way that he treated the members on the elites. They were all at least working strategies but Illusions yelling "YOUR NOT IN POSITION! YOUR JUST GOT ME KILLED! WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU DOING YOU STUPID ***** ******* *** ***** ****" for five minutes every game most certainly didn't help. Those are all just asteriks in case everyone is wondering, I didn't actually type what he said for fear of getting banned lol.
