3xces, i have absolutely no idea what exactly the brush set is called. I just recently started downloaded brushes and such and ive gotten about 200 brushes recently just in tha last 2 weeks. Its either under the category of grunge of splatter. and the bioshock one, my personal fav. has a combination of about 20 different brushes, all from grunge or splatter.

and i dont think im going to try to join the design team laby

its pretty good
like venom said, i would work more with a stock image until you get the concepts down of making a good background
also, try some more blending on the render, i understand that chocobo walked you through it, and its pretty good...
but the bg is a little blah

blending can be achieved with brushes and smudging. you want to make the image look like its blending in with the background, not like you just pasted it in there. some sigs its ok to do in and it will turn out good. ill show you some good examples from my own work
heres a sig with pretty good blending, notice how the render blend in with the background. not onl;y because of the brushing, but also the colors. try to find colors that match the pic, but dont draw away from the focal

No, Chocobo did not. In fact, Chocobo likes to call them "cheating" and "boring".

We just did clouds for this one, and yeah, it's a little blah, but he's still learning. He's looking better than when I started doing this two years ago, I'll give him that much.
