i know the feeling. i have tried candy, gum, nicorette gum, ect. there was a pill the doctor gave my dad that worked. i forget the name of it though. been so long ago. i was 2 packs a day kind of smoker and the pills had me down to 1 pack every 3 days or so. i dont know if chantex was the correct name but i know it was real close to that name. it was in a pill bottle. not the sheets of pills that some people get. the main trick is to keep busy. take 1 hr at a time. dont wake up and plan to not smoke the entire day cuz it wont work. plan 30mins to 1 hr at a time. you get the urge for a smoke tell yourself you will wait for an hour an see where that goes. once that hour is up. dont give in. try for another hour. if you get the shakes or some thing take a couple drags or smoke half a cig. then try for another hour. lolipops usually help to keep your mouth busy and not think of a cig. also if you're a drinker (alcohol). STOP! dont drink while you're trying to stop smoking cuz that will lead to disaster. Also STOP hanging out with other smokers.
