Hmm, top five ready.. go!
]5. Hite (하이트)
Don't be like this guy, drink responsibly
The top-selling beer in Korea. Hite lager is sweet and golden, with thin body and minimal head. It is styled upon American rice lagers such as Budweiser. It is brewed from barley malt and rice. Along with OB and Cass, Hite is often found on draft in Korean bars and pubs. Most drinkers consider the draft versions of Hite, Oriental Brewery and Cass to be more or less interchangeable in price and taste, as most Korean beers are brewed from rice. 4.5% ABV.
4. Smithwick's Irish Red Ale
Smithwick's is an Irish red ale style beer from Kilkenny, Ireland. It is a clear beer with a rich ruby colour and creamy head. The brewing process depends on four main inputs: malt, yeast, water and hops. These each contribute to the distinctive aroma and taste of the beer. Smithwick's was originally created as a special brew for the first Kilkenny Beer Festival. It was later renamed Smithwick's No. 1 but is known today as Smithwick's.
3. Witbier
A ****nym of Corona with virtually no other similarities, Sibirskaya Korona first dropped in '96 and has been a totally stylish Russian beer since then. It is offered in no fewer than eight varieties, but its most popular is the Originalnoye which possesses a mild taste and delicate bitterness... a quality shared by everyone in 1996 who enjoyed the hit song "One Of Us" by Joan Osborne.
2. Samuel Adams
The Boston Beer Company produces a variety of beer year-round: Boston Lager, Sam Adams Light, Boston Ale, Pale Ale, Cherry Wheat, Cream Stout, Coastal Wheat, Scotch Ale, Black Lager, Honey Porter, Noble Pils, and Irish Red. The Sam Adams Boston Lager contains 4.75% abv, roughly average for its style. Other styles have pushed the physical limits of alcohol content for the brewing process - in 2003 one batch of Utopias contained 25.6% abv, beating the records that Samuel Adams Triple Bock and Samuel Adams Millennium had set before it.
1. Watermelon Ale
This is one of those beers that can only be found around the private brewery community that sell only on location like much of the New England Brewery area. It's smooth, refreshing, and you get a slice of watermelon with it.
This is just my personal top five I took into consideration. Some of these are commonly found and the others need to be specially ordered or tracked down. If you happen to try any of these, let me know what you think.
