I have half of a sleeve on my left arm and intend to continue it all the way up. I've dedicated it to all my friends and family that i've lost along the way and it was well worth the pain and money that went into it.

I got 3 but some on my hands and other areas. I got a Rottweiler on each forearm and a treble cleft note on my neck and all together the ran $240. They are all black and grey wash though. So as far as price it all depends on if you want color, size, shading, artist or shop hourly rates.

I get my tattoos for 50 an hour because I'm a returning customer. He always hooks me up. It all really depends on the tattoo artist. They can charge anything they want. You just gotta find the right place.

One thing to always remember when getting a tattoo is you always get what you pay for.

lmao that is NOT totally true. i have seen ppl pay $100's and they got the worst of the worst art work. there are some bad artists out there and there are some nasty shops that never clean their shops or equipment. you definitely wanna do research before sitting in the chair. also i got a tattoo for free for Halloween opener at a shop and its as good as if i paid for it. i have also spent $75 on a tat and its been awesome. however my worst encounter was with a new artist who burned my skin and ripped it open. that guy charged about $200 for it. the owner ended up having to fix it and fire the artist who did it.

Yeah I've seen my father who is covered in tattoo's get completely screwed before and easily have dropped about 3-400 for one tattoo. I got lucky with mine and spend about 200 for a whole sleeve, I have to say that I'm pretty happy with it too. The artwork was great and the artist himself was very well known throughout the community for being a good guy so it made doing some research on him very easy.

Tattoo pricing is based on hourly rate , type of artwork style, and placement of tattoo. size of the tattoo is not really a factor. For example I can do a simple tribal design across someones entire ribcage in about an hour or 2 and charge 200 to 300 bucks if the design was simple enough for me to use a 12, 24, or even an 80 gauge mag needle set. but on the other hand I can do a tat no bigger then the size of my fist and still charge 200 to 300 bucks if the design is very detailed and requires fine single needle technique. The saying we always go with in my shop to clients trying to get a deal on a tat is simple. Tattoos are an investment not a sale. Don't try and get a bargain on a tattoo, pay top dollar its going to be on you for the rest of your life everyday. So look at it this way if you pay under $100 for a tattoo your chances for submitting an application to be on the show Tattoo Nightmares grow exponentially. you pay for quality when it comes to tattoos. I have many tattoos, I have paid over $3500 for my right sleeve alone and it includes top quality work by Paul Booth from Last Rites Gallery, Steve Boltz from Smith Street shop, and Christian from Silk City Tattoo.

Also on another note Don't get your first tattoo on your hand, try it on a meaty part of your body like triceps or thighs this way you can see if you actually enjoy getting tattooed.

I have one tattoo. Its a tribal on my right shoulder, touching my neck, onto my chest a little, and halfway down my bicep. It took 3.5 hours, the artist drew it first on my body with a brush, being his own design its an original and not a copy from a picture. I love it. The most painful spot was across my collar bone. I can't wait to go back and have him finish it out to a half sleeve and incorporate a Celtic knot on my right breast. Be another 350. I'm willing to drive 3 hours to have him finish it because he drew the original, and I'm not sure who to trust to add to it. He was quality and decently priced. It was done at your mom's tattoo atelier, in Bemidji MN. Check him out on Facebook.

I have a bunch of them. Depends how big the piece is and how long it takes. Also how many colors your putting into it. Just make sure its something that signifies something in your life.

I have 13 tattoos... all are different sizes ranging from a mustache on a finger to a half sleeve (in the process).... my tatt guy charges $100 an hour, but I only pay $50 since we are friends and I've been going to him for 10 years. :)
