yea but dude.. your talking about game design and video games..we are talking about making a sig.. its not like your going to use a brush in a game lol.. the point of brushes is to make some highlights in your work... now with making maps your going to create them using a computer pencil thing and yea obviously that is art.. but so is this..

Hey neither am I, I suck at drawing, but, with a computer pen, i can use BRUSHES BRUSHES BRUSHES BRUSHES, to texture my easy to make outline, of course, I would be creating my bushes through use of artistic view. I use 3-D rendering programs to make my animatable characters and then, I use custom-mad BRUSHES to texture it. Brushes are used hella lot in games. What I'm saying, is sigs, are not art unless put to some sort of beneficial use. I love sigs, always will, but they're standard.

Dude all i was saying is you cant just use
brush brush brush,then add a render,then
gradient if thats not considered art......sorry chedder
but learnin how to make a proper sig,leads up to
WP's,Layouts,and whetever else your speaking of

How about you 2 stop this Drama. Its Art, Its Graphics, does it really matter???

Other people have different Styles & Techniques.

How people Make thier Sigs and Graphics is how they do it.

And please do me a favor and stop this now??? Thank You!!

Yoshi, no offense, but this isn't drama. It's called discussion in a more critical form of terminology. We're not fighting, we're debating. It's something we graphic designers do and always will do, for a living. It's not drama.

anything that you put to mind and create, whether it be a combination of brushes or just a hole bunch of filters, is art. check the definition. oh wait art is in the eyes of the beholder. if only yourself thinks its art. what right do others have to tell you that you are wrong.... man its been awhile since i have read a good discussion on a forum.

yes Cheddar, i do see Debating in here. But there are a few that are drama-type, not completley drama but are causing issues. (which is only a few, so yeah)

but other than that, its a great Discussion.

Art - the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.

Art has no definition, art is whatever you want it to be. You alone do not decide what art is, we ourselves decide what art is, and any debate about what art is is a bunch of bullcrap, just like religious fighting, it doesn't matter what you believe in or if you believe. People fight for it, their own ways, but truly we should just understand the options. If "art" has a defintion then we're even more screwed up then I thought we were (that includes me)

I didnt have Photoshop for a while because my dad cleaned out the computer and accidentally deleted it. I got it back now and this is the newest sig i made. Hope you guys like it. Don't be afraid to comment on how I could improve it.

and i think my sigs are my artwork.. they don't compare to experienced people but i try my best at what i do.. you can say that a stick figure is even art!
