GALACTUS2011 NEWS TEAM APPLICATION

Galactus2011 News Team Application

GT: Galactus2011
UN: Galactus2011
(I am expecting to get Sgt within the next week and have already paid for the XGC Galactus gamertag, so once promoted, I intend to submit my gamertag request application).

Clan: XGC Atrocity XK

Preference: I have no inhibitions about doing interviews or reviews, so send them my way. But if my preference actually has any gravity in the situation, I'm best working with shooters--as far as game reviews go.

Example of my work:
YouTube - Black Ops Gameplay with Commentary (December 14th patch for 360)

If you were hoping for an actual document/blog/article, then that can be arranged.

Although the thread outlining the application process did not include a "tell me about yourself" or "why you think you're qualified" bit, I'll include one anyway if it will help any at all.

About me/Why I'm qualified:
I have some college. My major was linguistics. I'm excellent with spelling, grammar, and syntax. If "writing a review" meant having to go to BlockBuster and rent a game, play it for a week, and then type up an article with as little bias as possible, I'm more than capable of that. As you can see by my video, I'm an amateur video editor and am fully capable of researching and posting my opinion about a subject--in the case of the forementioned video, the 14 Dec 2010 patch for Black Ops on 360. I am a dedicated and active member of the XG community, although I haven't been around long enough to have made a name for myself, I'd like to start by participating in the Xiled Gaming Multimedia section.
I have submitted an application to Xiled Design, which is still pending. I have become a member of Wrath of God Studios--founded by KoG Machina. And am now applying for the News Team. I can type about 90 WPM, and know my way around typing a document or two.

Closing remark:
Please RSVP and let me know what I need to do to facilitate the application process. I'm willing to help in any way I can. Thanks for your time!

Interviews preferably.

Interview with XGC xMethOx

XGC Raigen
Hello, how are you?

XGC xMethOx
I'm doing good, how are you?

XGC Raigen
I'm good, thanks.

XGC Raigen
So you're a new general to the community, tell me a bit about your history.

XGC xMethOx
Well I was recruited into Salvation when they split from Nemesis, went from Sergeant to captain in Salvation,
and in 6 months I moved up to a general position in XGC Meltdown XK, and i've been part of the community for 9 months.

XGC Raigen
Being a new general, what rank are you aspiring to within the community?

XGC xMethOx
I really don't want to go any higher than a section leader, as of now. But it could change, but at the moment
i want to stay as a general, and get used to everything then move up.

XGC Raigen
What sort of things do you look for in members that you want to take a leadership role in XGC Meltdown XK?

XGC xMethOx
If they show the initiative in wanting to lead, I look for the quality of them and their intellect as far as handling situations
and talking with people. I check on their activity level, if they're not on regularly then they won't be able to handle issues
in a time efficient manner.

XGC Raigen
What does the xiled gaming community mean to you?

XGC xMethOx
Basically, nothing more than just a bunch of friends playing a game that we love.

XGC Raigen
On a more personal note, what are some things you enjoy doing outside of gaming?

XGC xMethOX
Alot of things, I like camping, i'm more of a city person though. I like doing web design, boating, programming and paintballing.

XGC Raigen
What do you devote the majority of your time to?

XGC xMethOx
Gaming. It goes toe and toe with spending time with my wife and work.

XGC Raigen
What line of work are you involved with?

XGC xMethOx
At the moment i'm in the restaurant industry.

XGC Raigen
Do you enjoy what you do, what does your job entail?

XGC xMethOx
I'm a cook, and it's alright. It's just a job, there's not many jobs in my town.
I have future plans of getting CDL and getting work as a trucker.

XGC Raigen
What sort of traits of your profession relate to how you deal with everyday life, and that in the community?

XGC xMethOx
I deal with customers alot, so the social and people skills definitely help.

XGC Raigen
Alright, sounds great.
Is there any shoutouts you'd like to make or any extra comments?

XGC xMethOx
I'd like to make a shoutout to everyone in XGC Meltdown XK and XGC Salvation for being a great group of guys.

XGC Raigen
Have a great night, thank you for your time.

XGC xMethOx
Thanks, and you too.

Great interview. Before hitting that post button, keep the spacing to double space. Lots of times it adds extras during the copy & paste.

Sure thing. I'll get on that today. If all goes well, I should have it up by tonight, but things have been crazy at work the past couple days.

NEW VEGAS

New Vegas

Ok here goes... please keep in mind that the forum doesn't allow indentation, which is lame. But I do know how to hit Tab before starting a new paragraph, I promise.

Fallout: New Vegas

Released on October 19th, 2010, Fallout: New Vegas has since taken hold of the gaming community. Selling more than 2.3 million copies to-date--January 19th, 2011--worldwide, New Vegas has further solidified Bethesda's reputation for making epic RPGs. Much like it's Bethesda-born predecessor, Fallout 3, this game has a captivating story line that immerses the player's senses into an all-out, edge-of-your-seat RPG experience.

The storyline takes place in the 23rd century, post-nuclear apocalyptic setting, and begins in a movie sequence where your character is being dragged to a remote location in the Mojave Desert and then shot twice in the head and left for the crows. As the character comes to his/her senses, he/she is first greeted by Doc Mitchell, a doctor of a nearby town called Goodsprings. He tells you of how he was barely able to bring you back to health and from there allows you to chart your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and skill points to your liking. From here, the player is greeted by a robot named Victor, who later manifests himself as a guardian angel of sorts, and he points you in the right direction to track down the man in the checkered suit who left you for dead in the Mojave.

The options given to the player are virtually endless. There are four main endings to this story, and dozens upon dozens of ways to slightly affect each of those. In this game, the player has a Karma level which is affected by whether you choose violence over diplomacy, whether you steal or buy things, and how the player decides the ending of each quest. On top of Karma levels, there are also reputations that you can build or destroy with each town and/or community that greatly affect the outcome of each quest.

Overall, the story line of Fallout: New Vegas is in no way related to the story line of Fallout 3 and even takes place on opposite sides of the continent. However, this in no way detracts from the game itself. Overall, there isn't much one can complain about in this game, with the exception of the bugs and glitches, which will be listed in a link below this article, but all-in-all, it doesn't detract from the fact this game can easily give the player 70+ hours of RPG-at-its-best fun.

Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Review

Recently I picked up a copy of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. I thought it was an awesome arcade racer, but like all games there were pros and cons.
One of the biggest cons was Hot Pursuit doesn't have split screen! Split screen would have been amazing on this game and i could play with a friend who is over at my house. However Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit does have system link for anyone who has two xbox's, but not many people do.
A pro would be the cars you can use. The developers gave us a vast amount of cars to drive. From A simple dodge to a beast like the Bugatti Veyron. Another con would be how you need the online code slip that comes with the game to play online or else you would have to pay some of your precious microsoft points to race other people.
Another pro would be the Hot Pursuit game mode. Once you go online, you feel bad for taking Need for Speed out of your console next time you change the game. Hot pursuit lets you be a cop or a racer. The object like every cop chase it to get away from the cops and get to the finish line before the cop wrecks your car.
One last con is the music selection! I found the in-game music wasn't the greatest. There weren't a thousand songs like every great racer and you get bored of the twenty or so songs in the game very fast. The best song in the game was Sofi Needs a Ladder by Deadmau5 ft. Sofi but even then that wasn't the best song by Deadmau5. But other than the no split screen compatibility and the bad music selection the game was amazing.
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit includes a new feature called autolog. Autolog is the new menu that includes a wall to post your ingame pictures the wall is not much different than the wall on facebook.
For any arcade racing game fan, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit should be a definite buy.

This is pretty decent man, but see if you cant push it more. Go into further detail and tell me more about the Pro's and Con's. Also use more expressive language than just, this is good or this is bad. Say somthing like. THIS IS HORRIBLE! lol
